WHO Boss Lies About Vaping

You`re never going to unseat these vanity project wielding autocrats, they have years of networking connections to bolster their positions, it`s hard enough just making a living without having to find the time to put together a concerted response, but if you feel the need to express a counter argument to the spouted rubbish, you could consider reading through their stuff and where there is inaccuracy you could find fact based research that either proves your point or disproves theirs, put it politely, intelligently but insistantly to anyone who will listen.
Once these factions get a toehold they go runaway because of past reputations they are unopposed, if there`s one thing the pin stripers hate it`s being proven wrong.

Though I admire your intentions and your thoughtfulness, I do and have done exactly that for many, many years. Having spoken truth to power, both directly and indirectly, regarding environmental and social issues, it is unfortunate that they really don’t give a feck, and neither does the media. They can never be proven wrong, because they already know they’re obfuscating, if not straight up lying. The ends justify the means, and money and power are the only means to their ends, the truth is at best a temporary inconvenience.

We are intentionally being overwhelmed by our daily scramble; we are controlled and coerced. The only time representative republic is even remotely democratic is when there are mass demonstrations against an issue or a government. Being a minority, this possibility is nonexistent for vapers (and most others interest groups). It does feel good to rage against the machine once in a while, though :gunban:

all we need is for the masses to understand the power at their disposal. :)

A rather simplistic explanation here, in line with what you are saying -
The COP10 War
https://copwatch.info/the-cop10-war/
George Carlin was a comedian in the 1970s who stirred the pot about “the system” and how it “works” (or doesn’t) for the average person. “War is rich old men protecting their property by sending middle class and lower class men off to die.” The war on tobacco will never see its conclusion whilst we have rich old men protecting their financial interests at the cost of the dirty “smoking” masses.

In the minds of these people, they believe they are righteous and the optics are good. As long as they can control the narrative and keep the reality of the harm they cause with their moralistic imperatives under wraps its a winning combination for “everyone”.

A bit simplistic to say the least, but passionate nonetheless… What’s happening with vaping is just another example of distraction from inaction :11:

That George Carlin quote was kind of weird, especially when there’s like a thousand others that would be more apposite ;) But who reads Noam Chomsky or Rosa Luxemburg anymore (or ever?:hmm:), so I guess George Carlin is as deep as the Google gen can manage :18:

Kind of off on a tangent here but... to my mind, the trouble with Chomsky is that his work is written for intellectuals and the academically inclined, the majority of which (and certainly the type who would read his work) already have a reasonable understanding of what is going on.

What I like about Carlin is that he's entertaining and easily digestible by those who don't have the time, energy or will to devour 300 page essays.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Noam, and he makes a lot of sense. But folk like Carlin stand a better chance of getting through to the average person IMO. His lack of depth could be a strength.
