I started vaping to get me and the Mrs. off fags after a health scare.
The initial thought was to give up nicotine while still being able to imbibe, errrrr let's say, certain other medicinal products.
So I did some research into extraction methods and learned how to make my own, let's call it, DIY CBD oil.
After deciding the original vape I bought, cheap Chinese eBay job, wasn't good enough. I bought a Jomotech jobby, this was better, but with both of us using one each, we were still finding a coil could burn out in a day.
A mate lent me his Vaporesso machine and I was so impressed with it, I bought a Vaporesso NRG tank, which fits and works nicely on the Jomo base. But it doesn't work on the Chinese base.
My plan was we could both use the same tank so we would only need to buy one type of replacement coils. I have found I can soak used coils in high strength vodka then wash in hot water, after fully drying I get another use out of them. Is this dangerous?

So now I need to upgrade "her" base and buy another NRG tank.
I also discover that there are different types of coil that go in the tank, GT2/4/6/8 Mesh and CCoil, wtf? What is the difference between them?

How is it that I see so many people walking around vaping without more information on how it all works?
Why are there so many different options in putting a vape together and so many different fittings.

Who'da thunk you needed a degree in electonical engineering just to use a vape?

Thought you could squeeze a little bit more life out of a coil burning with just warm water
you don't get a brand new coil but extend the life a bit by say 50% if done well

nothing beats a new coil, and not that dear if you keep an eye out for deals,
but at a push you can squeeze a bit more life especially if no spare available

Many pick a good decent setup that works for them and run with it
than overthink stuff too much - if it works then go with it

I doubt if most drivers know what their tyre pressures are supposed to be
they just look now & then if that wheel looks a bit flat

There are plenty of other forums to discuss the other aspect, it's not one for POTV.

Most of us learn from each other about vaping, what kit works, what's reliable, what eliquid is good etc but then we also learn as we go along our likes / dislikes, main thing is it keeps us off cigarettes.

Sorry, wasn't intending it to be a discussion about "other aspects" just a rant about all the options that are available

Options are good - and bad...

Fewer options would mean less people could find something that works for them.

But more options mean it's more difficult for someone starting out to decide what they think is best for them.

Mixing and matching tanks and mods (bases...) is pretty easy though - nowadays there's only really two fittings and one of those is getting rarer on anything but the cheapest kit. In most cases if it physically fits it'll work (with exceptions due to extreme ends of the resistance scale).

I recommend visiting a vape shop and having a chat about the options and your usage.

Pod systems, I use My Blu (got them when they were a quid a go), and also Justfog Mini's, with patience, they can be rewicked. The liquid goes a long way (rather than up in smoke) because of the high resistance coils and tight mouth to lung draw.

Thank you all for your replies.
What I would like to do, is get both the Mrs. and I on roughly the same system so I only have to buy one set of replacement parts.
I do like the length of time these Vaporesso coils have lasted over the cheaper ones I first bought, so will probably stick with them for now. Although when I borrowed a full system, the bewildering number of options in the menu meant I never knew if I had it on the right setting.

Always looking to keep costs down any recommendations for where to buy a mod I can fit an NRG tank on, I can get a tank for £15, or where to buy a full Vaporesso kit for less than the combined price?

Cheers TC

Hi mate, some mods have a plethora of settings, I do like opportunities to use that word. :13:

Where was I!? Yeah, just stick with wattage/power mode till you get accustomed or familiar with the others and you'll be right. Coils and the packets typically have the low to high wattage recomendations on them, start at the low and work up bit by bit till you are happy. Break em in though say 10 to 20 w lower than the recomended, raising by a few w after a few draws till you get to that Low/High zone, then go for it. That should ensure a good coil life. No problem.
As I'm from another world though I cannot answer the other part of you enquiry. Others though will chime in very soon with the answers.

"Plethora", good use of a seldom used word. My favourite word to try and squeese in is Facecious, only because it has all the vowels in the correct alphabetical order ;)
