Why are Chubby Gorilla bottles even a thing?

Opening a Chubby Gorilla bottle or bottles of that style to add a nic-shot can be such a pain in the ass.

Some time ago I got myself a bottle-opener specifically for those, which makes it a bit easier, but still...
Sometimes that won't work well enough and I'll have to go back to prying it open with a knife or grabbing the nozzle with a pair of pliers to get it off that way.

Bottles which just have the nozzle coming out without the whole top are even worse (having to add VG/PG with a syringe...)

There are obviously other styles of bottles (the ones Prime Vapes uses for example) which are better in that regard, but filling some tanks or especially pod-systems can be quite hard with those due to the big nozzle.

Makes me wonder, why are those Chubby Gorilla style bottles the industry standard?
Why can't they just have a screw-top so that you don't have to pry it off?

I presume they were around long before nic-shots were a thing and they weren't designed to be opened. ... same with pods. they were designed for drippers I guess?

Sure, but there are so many new companys popping up each day producing liquids, whcih could for sure just use a different style of bottle without even having to change any current lineup.
Larger companys also make their own bottles (or atleast pay for individual bottles) like Riot Squad for example, but still go with that same style of opening-mechanism for some reason...

Bottles with smaller drip tips are easy enough. I just use a sturdy pair scissors but gorilla bottles with large nozzles can be really hard. I almost cut a chunk out of my finger trying to pry the nozzle off one a while back.

The stupid thing is there's plenty of similar sized dripper bottles available with screw tops. I see loads of them on ebay when I'm looking for mixing bottles for myself. Just shows lack of thought by shortfill makers.

I don't even know why I bought 10 of the things.

The prime vapes bottles defiantly make it easy to add the nic and the 60ml bottles the vapegoo uses

If they arent really tight the tops will pop off when u try to squeeze the liguid out of them.

One with a threaded top is an interesting idea, altho it will make them a few pennies extra. Doesnt sound like much unless u r selling thousands of bottles a day, pennies do add up.

For chubby gorillas i actually just use my thumbnail, but a pocket knife or butter knife will work, and kind of start with one side n get it a smidgen out, then move to the other side, same thing, may take a cpl goes at it.

Without those big openings itd be impossible too clean them unless u like waiting for water to dry. Ppl tell me not to care but i dont like the idea of adding tap or even bottled water to my juice. The water in the states has all sorts of crap in it.

I don't see why. The ones I see on ebay are pretty much the same price.

I'm still using some of my empty shortfill bottles from Rejuiced because they have smaller drip tips. Wouldn't touch gorilla bottles now.

Still, it's another good reason to mix my own. :)

I bought 6 of these 200ml bottles this morning. The largest size I could find with a small drip tip. They're just made out 3 moulded pieces, same as gorilla bottles.

Automation. The cap and nozzle comes assembled so just a single process to insert nozzle, screw on cap and tamper evident ring.

Some do pop out easy with just fingers but manufacturers will mostly source the cheapest for them rather than try several and pick the one that is easiest to pop the nozzle off.
