Why are Chubby Gorilla bottles even a thing?

One with a threaded top is an interesting idea, altho it will make them a few pennies extra. Doesnt sound like much unless u r selling thousands of bottles a day, pennies do add up.

In this scenario it works the other way round.
Most of the cost is initially in the tooling for moulding the design.
So if you have a custom bottle you want manufactured if you only want a few hundred per year they will be very expensive.
However, if your business requires several thousand per year they will be very much cheaper, to the point where there is hardly any difference between a "standard" bottle, and your "custom" bottle.

Just going by the prices on a packaging material website. They rnt really producing it for anyone specifically. It could even just be an artificial cost, like 'these bottles seem more desirable' so they can get more for them.

i think at one time hype surrounded them. i think partly because they were given a daft name, rather than just “plastic bottle”. it’s a special marketing technique.

They do have a slightly more 'professional' look to em, but its partly the label
(The one on the left is 70ml, the right is 60ml)
