Hi!

Just recoiled my first RDA (octopus)...ok it took me 2 tries to get it right but...by gum...I think I got it!

This is just a quick question as to the state of wick and wire when it is delivered...

I ordered wick and wire from a vendor...I wont name it yet...but it arrived in plastic bags (all good so far) but the wire was all kinked and, although curled into a vague circle, wasn't overly stable when making the coil. It broke once and i wasnt tugging or bending (well I guess I was bending it round the wick but not hard!) is this normal? The second part that had me thinking a bit was the wick itself. They sold one meter of the stuff (that actually was 93 cm, but didn't really care) but there was a knot about two thirds the way down where one bit had obviously ended and they added a bit more. Again is this normal? I think I will have to but out the knotted bit as I dont see what use it will be.

If anyone who has ordered this stuff before can give me any pointers on if this is the normal state stuff arrives in I'd be grateful...or if you could tell me where I SHOULD have got it from I'd be even more grateful! Special cuddles considered for helpful people :D

(Cuddles are optional...I would never force one on an unwilling participant)

I am new to rebuilding but I have bought wire that came on a card and another came wrapped around a little plastic bobbin reel like you get for sewing machines. neither has broken on using it. My wick has been looped in a circle and put inside a clear plastic bag. I have never measured it. I just trusted that is was a meter.

I always use stealthvape for my rebuildable supplies ;)
Fast friendly service and you can ask as many questions and still get a friendly reply :)

Wire and ribbon always come on cards, unless you go for the reel (always a bit more than the stated amount too)
Silica and ecowool come in little baggies, full details labelled on the front (again always that little bit over the size)

If you need something out of the ordinary Rob will go out of his way to help...

Guys and gals, you are excellent with the quick replies!! Several hugs incoming!

Mine just came in a circle in a bag (the wire that is) so it seems a bit spiffy...and there wasnt that much of it either. Will go for your options of vendor in future. Plus there is a nasty taste coming from the octo now...really strange, cant describe it, but not nice!! Think I may have jazzed it up somehow!

So much to learn! But I'm determined...it will work!!!!!!

Thanks again!

:D

If it was from the company I bought my stuff from... it doesn't suprise me.
Before you use the silica, Hold it over a gas flame for a long. Long time. Until it stops glowing red, more white.
This removes the shit taste. ;)

Oh, and I only measured it because of the knot...i was immediately a bit unhappy about the 0.6 cm of wick I couldn't use so was looking for another reason to moan about the supplier(I know I'm a git! :D). If im honest I wasnt impressed with them. Ordered from 4 different suppliers on the same day. The other 3 arrived the next day...that one took 2 more days. But hey ho...we live and learn
