Window Shopping - BB Panels

@MHL If you use a very sharp blade in a craft knife, you can get close to the panel edges but they will need sanding to get them spot on.
The trick with sanding is to make sure you don’t do it too aggressively and split the veneer.
And make sure the glue goes right to the edges of the panel & veneer - you don’t want any areas not glued down.
I used a Dremel to cut the fire button hole, and gave the panels a couple of coats of Bri Wax to protect them

Thank you @John R Phillips that is golden info, I will give that a go.

For curring out the fire button hole... what attachement would be good for that? I am pretty rubbish at DIY. I do have some hole cutters for my drill, but they're a bit overkill for a delicate veneer I would imagine?

Stand away from your hole saws! ;)
Yes, they are far too severe.
I used something like this:
https://www.cromwell.co.uk/shop/pow...MIrIGqqpfYgwMVyptQBh31mgu_EAQYDyABEgKVzfD_BwE
(The large cone one)

I drilled (with care) a fairly small hole (large enough to get the tip of the cone in) and gradually enlarged it from behind (using the panels’ hole as the guide) until it was almost there, and smoothed it out with a very fine sandpaper. Of all the processes, this was the most delicate & tedious as the panel was only acrylic so could easily be accidentally ground - Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey.

Excellent, thanks so much. Yea those hole saws are brutal :17:
The veneer samples are quite cheap so I might get a few to try out, as I'm bound to blx up the first couple.

After I had wiped the drool off my chin, I decided to share these cerakoted panels with you BB lovers. Yes, they cost as much as a Sxk BB, so they won’t be on my list any time soon. But they are imo stunning, and SnV Mods also makes some beautiful mech boros that aren’t too dear ;)
