Hi all. Have a mini 80 and its doing some strange things. Put a new coil in my Cleito tank and it'll read .29 ohm's. Soon after it'll read .30 ohms. Unscrew it and scew it back, .28 ohms, wait a few mins, .35 ohms. Vape with it and it tastes weird as. Ok, misses has the same tank. Put hers on my 80. Hers reads .27. No worries. Its my tank. Get a new tank. Put a new .27 in it, screw it on and whats it read? .29 ohms. Think huh? Unscrew it and screw it back on, .30 ohms. Put that tank on the misses 80 reads nuts like on mine. Both my tanks reading crazy . Want to try a reset on the 80. Hows it done or have i done so already? Turned it off. Put a pin in the reset hole, held it for a couple of secs and let it go, 80 turned itself on, all the settings still the same, no alterations. Seriously, im gonna throw this 80 against a wall and run over it with my 4wd. Getting seriously sick of dodgy vaping gear, coils, tanks, mods, getting nearly as costly as smoking was with having to replace failing gear. Almost about to throw in the towel and quit altogether. Love the vaping experience but im really sick of all this.

Some mods can be a pain
Thing is though coils can read out by 0.01-0.0x and be fine, it's hundredths of an ohm
Could be the coil is in loose, could be a bad connection between the tank and the 510 or even if it's a stainless steel coil it will change with heat
Personally if it's not on a mech I don't see small fluctuations a problem ( less than 0.1) and on a regulated mod it should adjust the voltage to give you the same watts anyway
Does the tank or the 510 on the mod have any significant dirt or tarnishing?
Does the coil taste burnt?

Thanks Jock. No, the pins and connector's are all clean and no visible damage. Happens with any coil i put in either tank now. When it jumps in ohm's the voltage changes and it tastes weird. So i take the tank off, put it onto the K4 battery and all goes good. Obviously now its the 80 thats the issue. Only a bit over a month or so old. To be honest i am dissapointed in vape gear in general! I used to work in an electronic shop that sold solar chargers, solar panels, batteries, detection gear, plenty of stuff and never have i seen so many issues with a particular product as i see with vape gear. Iv had numerous dud coils, Aio's that batteries started to quit just weeks into their use a tank fizzle out after its second coil, the Unimax fiasco and now the 80 about to get binned. Not to mention the problems that keep cropping up with other's that i hear and read about. The overall quality of vape gear as i see it is pathetic. Seriously considering running out my tanks, juice and remaining coils on the K4 battery and Tesla and not renewing after that. Its a frustrating money pit. Cheers and thanks for the input.

So an update of sorts on the Wismec 80. Did some searching on the net in general of problems relating to Wismecs. The one that kept cropping up was the connectors, in particular sticky springs. Jamming down and not returning to make a good cennection. The common remedy was to get a small screw driver and work the pin around and push it down repeatedly to try and free it up. I really gave it a hard time. This i did as otherwise it was bin time. After a while, nothing to lose, my pin looks pretty scratched up on top and not exactly new looking ( there would be the warranty gone but hey, these things are given warranties with shorter life spans than a typical house fly. For surely made on purpose a rapid consumerable item, dont need to be Eienstein to realise that!) but now it actually works again. Tastes normal, reads the coils within 2 points, a .27 as .29 instead of .35 which was throwing the voltage out for the wattage chosen and making the whole thing unenjoyable. Now some of the info i read on the Wis's were a couple of yrs old. Nice to see them adress the problem huh? Not. Why make em last longer, lets give em itsy bitsy warranties, insect life spans and keep the k,ching rolling in. Anyway, justified rant over. Cheers.

I think wisemec make thier 510s to only be reliable with wisemec tanks

Now that wouldn't surprise me at all. Ha, anyway I've got it working at least. Will see for how long.
