As someone who can’t draw a straight line, with a ruler, this breaks my heart.
No wonder you still look back on it now.

The really galling thing is the picture I copied from was one of those early 3d pictures which must have come out in the 70s. No way I could have traced it.

Winner.

I love Fantasia Mickey the best. I love the imagery itself and it also reminds me of my late Grandmother who I loved dearly.

Not bothered about winning. It's actually helped me a bit with sharing this story. I've never told anyone this before.
Hold onto that powerful imagery and those happy memories mate.

Slight extension as got my hands full at the minute. Will close and draw winner early evening.

I have a tale of woe. When I was a kid I was an exceptionally good drawer for my age. At about 9 years old I entered a local drawing competition. I drew this picture of Mickey Mouse which I had previously drawn many times and had been obsessed with for a while. It was perfect and that was the problem. They told my parents that a kid could not have drawn this and that I must have traced it. Consequently I got disqualified. Thanks parents for not backing me up. I was devastated, humiliated and felt guilty. Looking back I still feel angry thinking about it. I never really bothered much after that.
I had something the same when i was 15. I got a result of 99% for my Technical Drawing 'O grade prelim. The examiner had a tracing paper of the drawing that he placed over every ones drawing, and pointed out the areas that were outwith the master drawing. I looked at mine and couldn't see a mistake. I asked him what i had drawn wrong, as it looked perfect to me.
He said that even though my drawing was perfect, no one was given a 100% result. Bonkers. I got an A, and was happy, but thought his thinking was very wrong.
