What's new

About to give up DIY, save me!

Any one shot flavours you'd recommend? Been keen to try this recently

Well, these are some I personally enjoy and would recommend from Chefs Vapour website -

ChefsVapour Concentrates ( 30ml - £9.00)
The Donut King ( Custard / Plain donught )
Nice Cream ( Shortcake,cream,coconut )
Welsh Custard ( Custard with I believe Caramel/RY4 )
Ginger Rogers (Ginger coconut cake with butterscotch)

Mom & Pops ( 10ml £2.50 )

Blueberry Falcon ( Blueberry/ Tobacco. Strong savoury tobacco note if you like that sorta thing)
Calipitter Chow (Strong Wafer flavour with caramal and slightly mallowyness. Unusual )
Butterfly Bait (Honeyed Peach with, to my taste, a mild anise back note )

Master Baker (Mount Baker) ( 10ml - £3.20)
Sticky Buns ( Strong Maple with mild cinnanbun )

Decadent Vapour (10ml - 3.40)
Rhubarb Cuddle ( Rhubarb and Creme Anglaise )

Again, I must emphasise I like these. Some won't. ( Many Like Blue Moo by Master Baker, a blueberry cream muffin flavour that I found quite average really with no noticable cakeyness!)

I have more reviewed on my blog, linked below, but off the top of my head these are the cream of the crop so far. I do have quite a few others to get reviewed. No doubt if I write this list again in 6 months it'll be total different!

Hope it helps anyway :)

That's brilliant, thank you for sharing. Will check your blog out. Much appreciated

Not a problem matey... we are all in it together so to speak.

As for my blog, I'm a bit whimsically erratic with the posting! But it does get several updates a month. It's just a bit of idle fun.

My latest "problem" is I've managed to make decent juice. Tastes fantastic (to me) when MTL, but when I do direct lung hits it's slightly bitter/dry aftertaste. I'm assuming it's because I've used too high a VG. It's not dry hits but just a bittery after taste. I will need to go full mad scientist soon and make more experiments.

That's very useful, thanks. Could I ask you to quote your post and just add what % you use after each one, just to give some idea. Much appreciated.

I tend to stick with manufacturers use age guides when I first get these. As it happens, all of them are 20%... So there you go! I found all of them acceptable at this level.

Hmmm. Heard some people adding saline to the mix to add 'moisture' but I've never done this so can't advise. Maybe a drop of sweetner to the mix to balance the bitter with a sweet? Otherwise I'm a little stumped!

I'm sure a seperate question using a new thread might draw some decent responses from those more expert than I ☺

Have you tried adding alchohol/distilled water to your mixes, you can reduce the amount of pg by using this method I'm finding my mixes alot smoother/less harsh mixing this way. I've only been doing this very recently but there's a definite improvement I'm adding 10% vodka or water if it's something creamy.
