I am now wondering if were both alergic to PG, I hope not as I have around 30 bottles of 50/50 and 60/40 PG/VG

I ask this as I am struggling with a tight chest and struggling to breathe.

My Mum is also struggling with her chest and breathing aswell as lose of voice (no sore throat)

Do you mean 30 bottles of complete eliquid?

If so, I assume it's not all the same flavour.. is this happening with different flavours or just current one being used?

Vaping does tend to dry out the throat a bit, particularly with higher PG blends.

Are you both drinking plenty of fluid?

The reason I was asking about flavours is that it might be possible that a flavouring additive might be contributing?

When I've used 'store bought' liquids in the past, some of them were a bit rough on my throat and I put this down to flavouring content more than PG content because the dry throat cleared up when I switched to similar PG ratio liquids but with different flavourings.

My mum is a tea addict, she drinks around 20-30 cups a day.

I've always got a glass or bottle of water in my hand, it could be the flavouring :)

Im smoking squid ink which im not sure what it is except for cola and some sweets.

And my Mums is liquorice and aniseed

Ill go wash out an atty and try Fresh lime

Thanks :-)

steffijade sorry to bother you, ive just realised the only time my chest it tight is when I vape in my home. Could it be due to the artifical heating and the fact our chairs and smack bang on the radiator? I don't recall ever experiencing this outdoors or at college etc

It could be a few vape related things causing your issues. Another one that springs to mind is nic strength.

Your preferred vaping style can sometimes dictate what level of nic works best for you.

For example, I've got a 'greedy' sort of style, as in I tend to chain vape when given the opportunity and if I use liquids in a 'normal' range, say 15-18mg, I can end up with a sore throat (as well as a nic headache). Because of this, I tend to vape at a lower nic strength (currently 5mg), but because I'm chaining, I still get a decent amount of nic intake overall.

Another line of enquiry could be the actual heat of the vapour. If you using a high wattage setting, the heat of the vapour might be irritating. If you're using a low wattage setting, the eliquid might not be getting vapourised fully (especially if you have a setup that has 'generous' wicking) and if you're inhaling droplets of unvapourised liquid along with the vapour, this can cause irritation.

Hope you can both get sorted soon.

That's another possibility I'm afraid.

Not every possible cause is vape related... daft as it might sound, you might both be coming down with a bit of a cold.

It's wise to try and experiment with the possible vaping related issues and isolate the cause if possible though.

Good luck.
