Are my batts dieing on me? :(

By the way.... while were on about batteries for LT's. will an AWR protected 18650 fit the LT ok? Are protected batts generally longer than un-protected?

Thanks for that link KMS, just bought myself a pair of the batts you linked :) Did consider some slightly large mah batts he sells, but 500mah increase doesn't seem worth the extra £7 really.

I`ve started replacing my batteries with slightly lower mahs as well, for no other reason than save a headache as I know they`ll fit everything I have and don`t have to juggle several different types & sizes.

If I`m definitely going to have to swap out a 3100mah each day anyway, I may as well do so with a 2600 - there`ll always be at least 2 a day regardless as I don`t run them totally flat - so saving a couple of hours or so.

I`m still waiting for battery technology to make a few steps forward and increase capacity but not at the expense of size *taps fingers*

I thought these batteries charged better if you ran them flat??

I believe it`s better to NOT run Lithium Ion batteries totally flat - and it`s fine to charge from partially depleted, as they have no memory effect like other battery types can have.

If a Li-Ion battery is rated to be able to have 300 full charge cycles for it`s lifetime (for arguments sake) you can do 300 full cycles, or 600 HALF cycles with no ill effect - partial charging isn`t detrimental.

I think that`s how they work.

Discharging them flat, along with not using them for long, particularly if stored fully charged or heavily discharged, it's supposed to shorten their life span.
This applies to both lithium and imr safer chemistry.
Basically, they benefit from being used and recharged, and if they drop under a certain voltage they can get damaged.
Even when protected, voltage will keep slowly dropping over time when not in use, so better not to run them flat and leave without recharging, even with electronics mods which will cut-off at a safe voltage.

Yep time for some new ones :) AW IMR's and Senybors are the best.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-SenyBo...rElectronics_Batteries_SM&hash=item4608d70e14 <--- I have these and Love them!

But they are not IMR, are they?

I don't know if the Lavatube HAS to have IMR and your post suggests not, but I bought IMRs from the same seller because the Lavatube came with IMRs so I thought it best to stick with them.

That eBay seller certainly seems to know what he's talking about when it comes to batteries.

I bought these, they're great, a bit long, the bottom of the Lavatube doesn't screw all the way in but they work fine.
