I totally agree. This vocation, by its nature, is a prime area for political correctness to manifest itself. I have no problem with anybody who's qualified being given a job, but most local council appointments are based on filling quotas.

There will always be exceptions and @arboreal may well be one.

You are right of course Ment and I do rather owe arboreal a public apology, I was in a piss poor alcohol fueled mood after another run in with a social worker for my sisters 2 adopted children...

@arboreal. My apologies, Being drunk and in a bad mood is no excuse for poor manners. Of course not all social workers are stupid and incompetent. I know you and many others like you do sterling work and my bad experience with a few poor quality individuals over the years has tainted my view of the profession as a whole. so Once again - My sincere apologies, my comment was uncalled for and unwarranted...

I really appreciate that mate. I'd had a shit day too but because I'm on call I can't have a bloody drink, so I've not even got an excuse for my dramatics.
