Ash announcement

ASH has always been... a little pro ecig, but I think their stance started changing more once they realized that going anti wasn't going to be a good thing for them. It probably helps that one of their ex directors is totally pro ecig :)

Theyre still calling for "Light touch" regulation which is what they think the TPD did :(

My own cynical take on this is that ASH are reading from a script prepared by big pharma.

Now that big pharma has the MHRA placed to control regulation and plans in place to tie up the high nic strength market in medically licensed lookalikies, ASH can safely begin a push in the media towards an acceptance of vaping... with the proviso that only medically licensed products, produced by the people who largely foot the bill for ASH are recommended.

Extremely cynical viewpoint I know, but I reckon if you don't stray too far from the flow of cash, you won't stray too far from the flow of truth.

Having heard the ASH UK chief, Deborah Arnott, speak at last years ecig summit, I got the impression that she is an ignorant, self opinionated gorgon, who is, for want of a better expression, firmly in bed with the MHRA rat faced gimp, Jeremy Mean, who also didn't know his arse from his elbow.

Of course, my personal opinion, and not fact! :D

Oh, the promotion of unhealthy adult activities to children is epitomised by pubs actively marketing to families, with government approval.
If we were trying to discourage kids from taking up alcohol, we wouldn't allow kids meals, colouring in books and playgrounds to be provided in pubs.

Deffo, does anyone remember when it was actually quite hard to get hold of booze? You had to go to an off licence and only during certain hours. Now it's everywhere. And whose bright idea was it to sell booze at petrol stations? What kind of mixed message is that?

No different to the W.H.O. who are also largely Pharma controlled/funded.
It`s less about public health and more about brown envelopes.

Alcohol at petrol stations? We had that for years in Germany. Also alcohol has always been freely available everywhere and kids and women were never banned from pubs. Even McD sells beer in Germany. Where one can buy a shandy or wine spritzer at 14, beer and wine at 16 and spirits at 18. For some reason we do not have the same problems with alcohol there as there is in the UK.
