I have never built my own coils, owned an RTA and I have no experience in this area whatsoever. In spite of this, this particular aspect of vaping and the creativity that goes with it, is what grabbed my attention the most; as a hobby and as a means to quit smoking. I currently own the Cleito 120 - which I am extremely happy with, and I like the look of the RTA section you can buy for it. As a new vaper, I haven't developed any brand loyalty/biases, so I'm open to all opinions about Cleito ( RTA )

Should I buy it, or should I consider something different entirely.

I haven't tried the Cleito 120, but as I sit typing this I'm using the standard Cleito with the rta and fat boy glass and getting a really tasty vape. You certainly save some money compared to the stock coils, rta's are all I use now, I would recommend you give it a go.

Thanks, I will be buying the RTA for the 120 next week. It's not to expensive and after watching a few tutorials, it looks reasonably easy for beginners. As an added bonus, it comes with pre-installed coils, so I can see how to best fit my own coils.

The coils are not really difficult, use the steam engine calculator, there should be a link on here somewhere, it calculates how many wraps you need for your chosen diameter (the room available in the rta governs this), and the wire you're using. The trickier part is getting the wicking right, a bit of trail and error I'm afraid, when started I watched a few tutorials on the subject, but found my own way in the end. Good luck.

What wire would you recommend for the beginner? What wire would be best for intermediate? Or is there no such thing as wire for people who are past the beginner stage?

Try the crazy wire web site, they have hundreds of different types of wire. A good starting point would be Clapton wire, 26 or 28 AWG. I use ss316 wire myself as I use temp control and vw modes and this wire can be used for both. These are the beginners wires, the guys that have a better understanding of ohms law and have the patience and time construct weird and wonderful creations using different types of wires. If you get chance look up smut (a regular contributor on POTV) and cuckoo coils, these are coils of real beauty, I just dream that one day I could be half as good. Sorry I can not throw up the links for any of these sites, I'm out and about at the moment.
