I have suffered from asthma all my life. If I smoke regular cigs I suffer bad after a few weeks, been of and on cigarets since I was 12, now 50 haha. So I recently gave up and have started vapeing. 2 months off the cigs now and I love the vaping but I think it maybe still is affecting my asthma nothing like as bad as cigs tho.
I would like to here from other asthma sufferers experiences?
Even read on web that vapeing can be beneficial to asthma sufferers?

the same stuff in asthma inhalers, is in ecigs, Propylene Glycol, which is the propellent in asthma inhalers that delivers the medicine...

I've read loads of posts from asthma sufferes that have said its improved. Tromain to name just one...:)

You are still in that "healing" phase of quitting smoking too...between 8-16 weeks (up to a year) your lungs are regrowing very important cells, cilia and in general just cleaning themselves out.

What makes you think its affecting your lungs?

Hi there, and welcome to the planet! As KMS said, I have seen a huge improvement, my asthma was bad enough that I couldn't handle a single flight of stairs without using my inhaler(I was on the blue and brown ones, 8 times a day, 4 pumps each) after about 6-7 months of vapeing my asthma had completely vanished, and I was no longer classed as asthmatic. I still experience a little tightness on my chest on the odd morning when it's cold and wet but haven't used an inhaler in over a year, I can run and play with my son, and actually get on with life!

There are a few others here on the forum that have seen similar results since taking up vapeing, so just stick with it and give your body some time to heal up and you will see the benefits!

Hi and welcome to the planet. I have suffered with asthma all my life also and have found
that it has vastly improved since I've been vaping. Unfortunately it appears, for me at least, it's not something that's going to go away. I have found vaping vg heavy juices
better for me, it doesn't need to be 100% vg just so long as I don't get a massive throat hit I'm ok. Some juices in particular affect me more, there's something in strawberry flavouring that makes me tight chested, I've tried I couple from well known juice companies and they all give me the same symptoms so I have to avoid strawberry now. It could be something for you to consider, trying different ratios of pg/vg or even see if there is a connection with the flavour that is causing your problem. I hope you get yourself sorted, I know how miserable it can be and sympathise with you.

I have had asthma 25 years and was needing regular nebuliser's,also on steroids.
Then I got told I have COPD last year and I switched to vapeing!!!
Damn I wish I had done ot sooner!!it actually feels like my lungs want to live again :D

I am also an Asthma sufferer and a long term heavy smoker, my Doc recently told me she thought I had COPD. I found this site and it is the best thing I have ever done!!

I am now nearly 5 weeks fag free and the difference is amazing

I can breathe again!! The biggest thing I have noticed is that I am sleeping like a teenager, I dont keep myself awake with the awful wheezing noises and also dont wake up with coughing all the time. From someone who was always up at 6.00 regardless of work or not, I am now dragging my arse out of bed at about 11.00 most days

Thanks to you all, you are brilliant for answering weird questions and giving support

Deb

Great replies thank you. One especially hit me and I never thought about it till I read it. Strawberries yep, if I eat them I suffer so like you said it would make sense to avoid those flavours.
Thanks again to all
