In the end, my thoughts r still the same. yes buy a battery with a stronger posive pin, because i dropped it directly down onto a wood floor trying to see if i could make it happen.

The molicel wasnt dropped in this fashion(it was onto a carpet in fact at a side angle), but it still happened anyway, when other batteries have been dropped in a similar fashion and havent been hurt

So far the only mod this has happened to me with is the aegis max as well. Sounds like its a combination of factors

This is a pic of the molicel after being crushed. Its hard to see, and ive since thrown it out, but the diif is that on the moli the legs got shifted along with the top being pushed in.

On the hohm, only the top got pushed in, the legs are completely unharmed

Heh, but i guess how badly they r ruined doesnt really make a diff., in the end they r both still ruined. Im gonna go with a sliver of plastic shoved thru the top, that should stop it for good, and make it safer

Arnt the tops raised to protect a intentional week spot under them where its designed to break first in case of thermal runaway instead of it being a bomb?

Dunno, maybe i should find that out first

(Not sure if a plastic toothpick or something would affect that safety feature tho, its not seqling it closed, it just a support beam for the top essentially. The top being crushed has nothing to do with thermal runaway, correct?)
