I have had unbelievable bad luck today and am stuck with no charger this weekend. First was my MiBoxer Charger, i went to check the batteries and no lights or display, checked the usual culprit the fuse and that was ok. It has had some hammer over the last 3 years plus so not really surprised. I will open it up and check for dry joints and check it through with my Multi-Meter but think it's a gonner. I knew i had another charger, an Xtar C4 which i have only used a handful of times. I plugged in the USB and nothing. Gutted , especially with it happening late Friday Afternoon. I am lucky because i have plenty of batteries and if push comes to shove i can charge them in their Mods. Feeling totally fed up.com.

That's a scunner....have a hunt round the usual suspects for a replacement

I'm getting close to the same situation. The springs have snapped in my Miboxer - it will work with 18650s if I wedge the sprung tabs is place with clothes pegs but will show incredibly high internal resistance on the batteries and only charge at a very slow rate - taking the batteries out and re-inserting them will result in a completely different IR reading and after a few attempts it will eventually give a decent reading and charge normally.

My VC2 will display one battery at 3.6 for example and the other at 4.0 when charging. Again repeatedly re-inserting the batteries will eventually show both to be at the same level.

The problem isn't the batteries, which are all undented, well wrapped and in good health, but the chargers are obviously past their best and need replacing.

I do have a Nitecore i2 that is now 6 years old that works perfectly but once one battery is fully charged it instantly charges the other at double the rate so the batteries can get warm even at an initial 500mA charge rate, which can't be adjusted - and charging 21700s takes ages...

I'm definitely overdue for a replacement.

I have a Nitecore i4 and a Q4 I'm happy to move on if anyone needs, just cover post and I'll send on.

Also a Gyrefalcon fan and had two that lasted 6 years plus with everyday usage. Both literally started to fall apart within quick succession of one another, but by that point they had done thousands of charge hours each, so I can’t complain at all.

Nobody had stock when I was after new ones so I went with Xtar and a VC8 and then a VC8 plus. Couple of features I’m not intested in tbf but they work well and feel solid.
