I have been vaping since 19th of december, so not very long, but since I picked up my first ever device I haven't touched a stinkie, I started with cartomizers, then went onto clearomizers, and now I'm on davide glassomizers, which I love, I just wanted to no if there is anything better out there tank wise. It wouldn't bother me if there wasn't as I do love the davide glassomizers and will defo be buying a few more, but im getting my itaste vtr soon and wanted to buy some new tanks with it
Well done on making it this long without smoking!
There are 2 major price ranges for tanks once you get past the cheapy throw away clearomiser stuff.
There's the tanks that cost £12-£20 depending on exactly what you get and where you get it, and then there is a huge leap up to the higher end tanks like Kayfuns/Taifuns and such. There's not a lot in the middle.
right now the best and easiest vape is from an Aspire Tank (imo) and the other major tank design is the ProTank.
If you are looking for things to slot into your VTR without using the annoying extension thingy, then you want something no larger in diameter than a ProTank.
There are a lot of different ProTank based designs around. There are Kanger ProTanks themselves, there are Davide Tanks as well as a few others that use the same head. They all vape more or less the same so which one is best for you depends on which one you like the look of best.
Then there are Aspire tanks. I think these vape better than ProTanks, but preferences are subjective and all that. The Davide Aspire tank is the only glass tank that uses the stock Aspie heads, but you can get adapters to be able to use an Aspire head on a ProTank or a standard Davide glassomiser.
I rate all of the above tanks highly cos the tank itself is made from glass. Glass is a much better material than plastic not least because of the fact that some liquids can cause polycarbonate plastics to crack/leak.
If you've not tried as Aspire based tank yet I'd recommend giving one a spin and seeing if you prefer it. You can get a cheaper Aspire clearo which gives a similar vape to the more expensive tanks so you can get an idea of how it vapes. Or you can get an adapter for the tanks you've got already both of which will set you back less than a fiver.
Similarly if you're already using Aspire heads then try the standard ProTank head at least once. The ProTank head (also used in evods) is quite easy to rebuild yourself, so if you are that way inclined you can save quite a bit by recoiling your own heads and some users swear by recoiling ProTank heads as they get a better vape out of them compared to the stock ones.
Aspire heads aren't rebuildable (you can rebuild them but it takes so long it's not cost effective) Aspire heads are also a little less forgiving if you burn them when they're dry.
If you prefer aspire then the newest tank out now is the Nautilus, though it's a great tank it's larger than a ProTank so won't easily fit a VTR and uses it's own bespoke heads, that nothing else uses, which could be an issue.
the next price bracket up gets to about £60 for a Kayfun Lite or a Russian 91% (kayfun clone) you can find much cheaper Kayfun copies too. Right now the Kayfun is possibly the best tank out there. You'll need to be able to build your own coils to use one (not nearly as hard as it seems) there will probably be a
Mawsley along soon to talk more about other tanks
The other alternative is a Genesis atomiser. Getting the best out of one takes much learning and much fiddling. If you like tinkering with things, then they might be ideal.
Personally I like the ease of use from the Davide Aspire tank so that's what I use most often, and I have a Kayfun at home filled with my favourite e-liquid.
