What's new

Best wire to use. And a few other Q's

Checkout the Seven30, or if you want to really crazy, you can get the eHuge with an extension and stack 26650's.

I'm liking that seven 30 very tasty indeed. but why would I need 30 watts? Is what the wife would say

Need? Want! I've got a 180 watt God Mod on my shopping list. And you should see the clouds from a 50 watt IPV2.

Then there are the new tanks............

The Joyetech Delta goes up to 25, the new Kanger Turbo takes 2 dual coils and in Phil Busardo's review he reckoned a Seven22 was insufficient for it. In a years time the Seven30 will probably be incapable of driving the newest clearomisers.

I'm reasonably new to vaping (8 months or so) and being a stay ay home dad (read unemployed) cost is a major factor in my vaping equipment. I have been using an Aerotank with a vv evod but more recently I came into possession of a Vamo V5 (thanks Mum and Dad) and even more recently a Kraken clone which I won on this forum (thanks beivape for the awesome comp and commiserations to those who didn't win) my wife has also taken up vaping and has the Innokin iTaste clk 1280 with the Gladius. I have re wicked some coils for the Aerotank and I'm sure I will be doing the same for my wife in the near future. My questions are,

1, Which wire would be the best for making my own coils for the Aerotank and Gladius and would I be able to use the same wire to make coils for the Kraken.

2, With the Kraken do the ohm's double if I use it with a dual coil setup or if I make two 1ohm coils does that make the resistance 2 ohms.

3, If I bought some extension tubes for the vamo could I stack two 18650 battery's

May the coils burn ever in your favour.

With regards to wire get something you can twist if you need thicker wire. start too thick you can't split it though.

1. 30awg is a good start.

2. The resistance (ohms) halve. So 2 x 1ohm coils =0.5 ohm total resistance.

3. Please do not attempt to stack battery's, especially when you don't know anything about what your doing , you cells will be in series and therefore running 8ish volts. At best vamo will die.

The kraken you won is to be honest, towards the advanced side of vaping, perhaps not the best thing to win as a newbie. You really need to consider what you put your name down for in future I reckon.

9668harry I must say that I find the last part of your reply a little condescending, although I'm new to the vaping world (how long do I have to serve as a noob before I get my wings?) you assume that I don't know what I'm doing because I asked a few questions. The internet is a big place and is full of information and I have looked at stacking batteries and people do it with what is really just a metal tube without any of the circuitry that the vamo has such as
the Amperage limiting system to protect against over current and thermal monitoring which shuts the device off when abnormally high temperatures are detected. Earlier in the post I mentioned that I would love a mod that looked like a lightsaber but being a Vaper who has little or no real budget for vaping I can't spend £120 on one those metal tubes but if I can spend £10-£12 on tubes for my existing device then that is something I will consider and after researching and making an informed decision if there's even a slight chance it will kill my device then it's not gonna happen.
I did "consider" what I was putting my name down for, having done some research on rba's and rda's as this was what I was looking to purchase as the next addition to my vaping gear and have already used it(and I might add it was truly awesome) but only with a single coil using the kanthal that came with it.I was unable to use the dual coil setup I made as it came out at 0.9 ohms and the Vamo wont fire on less than 1.2 but now I know I can twist the wire I'll give it a try. And as for it being on the "advanced" side of vaping that may be but I was looking for the next step up from my current atomiser and if I get the chance to get one for free then I'm gonna take it, or is the real story here your just pissed because a "newbie" won it and you didn't.

I'm not sure if it's safe... Or if it'll even fire but if you fancy trying I've got a SS Vamo V5 casing you can have if you want it? It's basically a Vamo without the top cap or chip.
