What's new

Best wire to use. And a few other Q's

I'm not sure if it's safe... Or if it'll even fire but if you fancy trying I've got a SS Vamo V5 casing you can have if you want it? It's basically a Vamo without the top cap or chip.

There's a pic in this thread of a dude who's done it, but I think I'll just stick with what I've got I don't want to blow it up or anything and end up on my backup kanger ipoo, my centre pin went and 6 days without it was painful 2 charges a day no fun at all but thanks for the offer

As i understand it, stacking batteries is dangerous because unless the batteries are exactly paired and in precisely the same state of discharge one battery can draw power from the other exceeding the amp limits. I suppose it could be done as a party trick but I wouldn't like to attempt it unless I had specialist equipment for checking the discharge status of the batteries.

9668harry I must say that I find the last part of your reply a little condescending, although I'm new to the vaping world (how long do I have to serve as a noob before I get my wings?) you assume that I don't know what I'm doing because I asked a few questions. The internet is a big place and is full of information and I have looked at stacking batteries and people do it with what is really just a metal tube without any of the circuitry that the vamo has such as
the Amperage limiting system to protect against over current and thermal monitoring which shuts the device off when abnormally high temperatures are detected. Earlier in the post I mentioned that I would love a mod that looked like a lightsaber but being a Vaper who has little or no real budget for vaping I can't spend £120 on one those metal tubes but if I can spend £10-£12 on tubes for my existing device then that is something I will consider and after researching and making an informed decision if there's even a slight chance it will kill my device then it's not gonna happen.
I did "consider" what I was putting my name down for, having done some research on rba's and rda's as this was what I was looking to purchase as the next addition to my vaping gear and have already used it(and I might add it was truly awesome) but only with a single coil using the kanthal that came with it.I was unable to use the dual coil setup I made as it came out at 0.9 ohms and the Vamo wont fire on less than 1.2 but now I know I can twist the wire I'll give it a try. And as for it being on the "advanced" side of vaping that may be but I was looking for the next step up from my current atomiser and if I get the chance to get one for free then I'm gonna take it, or is the real story here your just pissed because a "newbie" won it and you didn't.

May the coils burn ever in your favour.

Lol, yep I'm jealous that you won, positively green with envy pal, but I guess if you do nothing but stick your name down for freebies then your numbers got to come up sometime right.

I must be completely mistaken by the level of technical knowledge you have, as you said "I presume you don't know what your doing". It's just questions like, can I stack batteries in my vamo? and does the resistance of coils go up when doubled? kind of suggest you really don't. Your certainly barking up the wrong tree with twisted wire, but I'll let you find that one out for yourself now.

So I'll keep any help and advice to myself, knock yourself out pal, stack away.
