It's a dripping atomiser - and wicks/hits very like an octopus RDA does if all you do is drip into it, in which case you don't need to put the tank on at all, though it's really long.
It also works like a Killer does in that there is a control valve at the base of the 'bulb' section that the coil is housed inside that you can twist open to expose 2 holes. Those holes allow liquid to seep into the wicks from the tank keeping the wicks wet so you can get the convenience of a carto tank with the performance of an octopus, kind of.
It's a cheap copy - I'm selling them for less than £9, on US sites they are going for $12ish so it is a bit cheap and cheerful. I've not seen an actual Killer so I can't compare directly, but the tank is the same as the DCT Smoktech tank and has similar o-rings so it's not as tightly fitted together as the genuine killer looks in the vids I watched. The stock head in it worked really well in mine, which I ripped to bits last night and rebuilt with .2 kanthal and some silica wick, am going to try another rebuild when this tank is done with ekowool silica and see how that works out. Rebuilding it works exactly the same way as the Killer, tho it was very fiddly. Getting the ceramic cup to re-seat on the little pin took ages, I might just have been a bit fat fingered with it so hopefully there'll be some reviews somewhere soon from people that have rebuilt and used the original and the SmokTech version to give a better comparison. Refilling it is a giant PITA.
As it comes out of the box (or little bag in some cases) it vapes well but is probably not robust enough to cart around at work or out and about, the tank has too much potential to leak. Put on a quality carto tank with some decent o-rings instead though and you could take it anywhere and not worry about leaking.
All in all I really like the vape I get from it. If smok or a n other chinese manufacturer up the build quality a touch they could replace cartotanks. Once you get it set right the vape is lots better as there's no filler material like in a carto. Obviously the flavour and throat hit are better again on a genesis. I'm sure someone somewhere will figure out how to put stainless mesh in one of these before too long.
