Calling Mod Makers

Ive used this method before just got use the softer magnets otherwise they brake.
Doesn't really matter how you have the battery its not tube shaped mod as the battery can swell and block off the room between the battery and the inner tube for the gases to escape down in the bottom switch. This mod can never turn into a pipe bomb and the gases will find there way out the bottom.

My thinking was keeping the gasses away from the DNA board.

Have you a link for the magnets, as I may fit them in the future.

Have you put the up and down buttons side be side to make room for the screen?

Personally, if I were you I would rather lose the USB charger and have the up and down buttons vertical as you never need to think which one you are pressing and I have only used the charger once to test it.

Thought about it, when u turn the mod horizontal to see the screen they are in the right direction but I see your point. Space is not problem in that area the 510 and battery are the problem for me. If wasn't going to use a 22mm device I could shave off another 2-3mm. Suppose I could make the walls thinner from 3mm to 2mm and get another 2mm in height and depth.

I see, the board will be protected because its going to sit in a milled delrin holder, holds it in place and protects it from shocks. Gonna try and mill the screen clamp, board holder, usb charger and button holders out of one piece of delrin.

using similar build on my mod but PTFE not delrin

Looks good sparky, I guess the the big hole is to house a lipo. I think we are thinking in the same way, buttons can never be press into the mod because they sit in a housing and are not glued and . PTFE is also very nice to mill and make parts out of.

This another design, black inner is delrin and the red blocks are also delrin but they can be removed if the buttons or board needs to replaced.

Yeah similar but I like wood and brass !
mine will be sheathed in wood milled from solid and brass/aluminium alloy
fire button on mine to be opposite display.
and big battery compartment to be double 18650 am making battery holder internals from copper busbar
Just need to find time on mill now (weekends while at work)
So its sloooww at the moment.
Yet to decide on wood....I have mahogany and oak available....
May also make a mech. mod I the same style.....pure mech. just o prove a point.

also don't personally like gluing stuff in case I need to repair it....
and no wires on view....

Sounds sweet and that you are off to a good start. I like a nice wood mod too.

I'm off to bed guys.

One prob with that is if you change the screen form left-mode to right-mode the buttons will be the wrong way round for one of them and if they are vertical they are always correct and you don't need to look at the screen. Just my preference, but I have seen a few reviewers complain about that issue.

Yep, the clearance of the 510 to battery sets the min width.

I would have loved to be able to mount the buttons, screen and PCB in somthing like delrin from the start, but I just have a shed, a dremel and general DIY tools, I cut the box with a £15 mitre saw.

I'm impressed with your work.

Did you cut it out of a solid block of aluminum ??

This is looking really good and I know it's going to be a while before it's made but I'm really excited about this :)
