What's new

Cash is no longer king!

This baffles me.
If you only have cash, not read relevant notices, and have filled up, do they call police?
they force you to use the ozone machine to disinfect the money before you hand it over
...or what?

I used to set a limit of 20€ for pin less operations. Now, by magic art it is at 50€. I will not rage about that but I hope it will not start a wave of cyber scams

In theory you / they fill in a form with name / address / vehicle details, see some form of proof eg driving licence, you then have 7 days to pay before anything is done (same as if your card was declined, had no other payment method and there was no cash points to get cash out).

I use a card for practically everything but Mrs knome hates them. She's shopping tomorrow with a card and cash but hopes Aldi (or shortest queued emporium) takes cash.

I once got caught out, i filled car up then realised i had left my wallet at home
They wouldnt let me drive the 7 miles home to get my wallet.
Had to phone wife up to get bank details over the phone.

We're the opposite. Both OH's work and mine still get paid mainly in cash.

I wonder how they would have stopped you, if you said fuck it, i’m doing it, i’ll back in half an hour with the money?

I had this in my local coop from a new girl temp staff as she could die from cash I said give me 1 min

walked to the car picked up a box of nitrate gloves walked back told her to pick some gloves

she did

I said

“Problem solved don’t touch your face with your gloved hand”

paid walked out

common sense

Most places where I am are requesting you use a card and not cash. Even at the fuel pumps they are asking you to pay at pump instead of going in to the kiosk where possible.
Haven't used cash since the semi lockdown started. So much so I've still got £250 in my wallet from 3 weeks ago when I last used the cash machine.
