Anyone have any theory on why the figures aren't coming down as these would have been from pre December 2nd during lockdown but appear to be rising again.
Also interested in what people think about letting loose on Christmas.
Is it the right thing to do?

it will never slow down while all the assholes go on anti lockdown demos and refusing to wear masks.
the last one in london had hundreds of police on all the motorways leading into london stopping coaches and turning them around. the ones that got through then travelled back all over the country and most prob taking the virus with them.

Other than having to wear a mask in a shop you wouldn't know there were any restrictions at all as people just seem to be going on as they please and while that happens the virus will continue to spread. I understand why they are allowing people to let loose at Christmas but is it the right thing to do? No, it will spread the virus.

incompetent leadership has led to
the virus running riot, i think. now they have pinned all their hopes on a vaccine that may not even be very effective as there is no longer any other option.

I think figures are inflated in every department for the most part in every respect, although I also think it’s a very real thing so I’m far from a covid denier.

I think with the metal health impact this charade has had a Christmas lockdown would be disastrous for many and the Last straw to be honest.

Everyone needs a little hope and some time with their friends and family, and both have been / are in very short supply. Be aware of what you’re doing and don’t be an idiot, definitely, but don’t lock it down. Again.

And vice versa mate, taking more virus into London [emoji35][emoji35]

The numbers are going up now because of transmissions mid lock down. The biggest reason is probably because this country has its fair share of cockwombles and thundercunts who don't give a rat's ass. Most cases are in London I believe but it's high in several places. Unfortunately, you can't fix stupid, even with a vaccine. Anyone who thinks life is all of a sudden going to be rosey again overnight because vaccines are coming is going to be in for a rude awakening. And each to their own but fuck Christmas as far as I'm concerned. People's lives and long term health is more important than socialising at the end of 2020. That's how I see it anyway. If people want to risk their health and that of their loved ones, have at it. Me and mine? No, ta.

Surrey, alongside the majority of the country, was placed under Tier 2 restrictions from Wednesday, December 2.
The whole county is under the same tier, with pubs and bars told drinks can only be served alongside substantial meals.
When the restrictions were announced, Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised that the Tiers would be reviewed regularly to reflect the developing situation.
Figures released on Monday suggested infection rates are on the rise in Runnymede, which recorded one of the biggest week-on-week jumps in England.
Its infection rate went from 155.4 to 285.2, with 255 new cases in the seven days to December 4
The tiers will be reviewed on December 16, a week from today, giving local authorities just days to make their case for changing Tiers.
All of Surrey is currently in Tier 2, but this could change when the tiers are reviewed next week.
The review will consider the opinions of local public health directors, with a final decision on whether any changes will take place being made at a Cabinet committee.
Areas which are approved for Tier changes will see the change come into effect on December 19.
The exact time of the announcement hasn't yet been confirmed, but further details are expected closer to the day
The next Tier review is on December 16, coming into effect on December 19, but this will largely be overshadowed by the nationwide Christmas loosening just four days later (December 23).
