I have metal wire which is 0.8mm, is it too thick or is it possible for me to use it to build coils for my vape?(smok stick x8 w a rda) I'm a newbie when it comes to anything about vapes so im hoping for others to help me a bit and I have this device mainly to quit cigarettes. Thanks to anyone who has somekinda info for me :)

(lil info, im not a native english speaker so im sorry for the mistakes i make)

What kind of metal is the wire made from? You would be well advised to buy some wire that is advertised for using to vape, from a reputable seller (if that’s not what it is).

0.8 mm is 20ga. It's a chunky wire for sure and a dual coil in 20g is really not practical. I would advise getting something thinner and better suited to your needs.

Yea ik, unfortunately it seems to be my only choice currently since im in a place which doesnt vape shops, my car isnt functioning so i cant go to cities which have them and i didnt find thinner wire anywhere. Also the countrys postal service is currently on a strike due to wage related stuff so cant order anything online.

Do you know what type of stainless steel it is?

If I were you I wouldn’t use it if you don’t know what type of stainless steel. The common ones used for vaping are 304 and 316L. There are a lot of types which all have different compositions. I think some have aluminium, titanium, higher amounts of nickel and suchlike. I wouldn’t risk it if I didn’t know.

Is it wire specifically meant for vaping or is it from something else? You didn't pull it out of a toaster did you?
