coil reading different ohm

got my dripper today but the coil keeps reading different everytime
sometimes its 1.8 then 2.2 then 5.5 then 9.9 i dont touch it at all it just reads different nearly everytime i check it no matter what watts are on, say 5.5w it gives me 2 or 3 different readings in the space of 2 mins lol

also dries out very quick...like 4 drags

Nothing to worry about, you'll get it if you keep trying. Just be sure & take the time out to wrap your coils with a little care.If you're building a dual coil set up try & get them as like each other as possible & get the legs the same length. Be sure to tighten up the post screws firmly but without bullying them & cutting through the wire.
Are you wrapping micro's or just basic coils ?

its a single coil...the lady i bought it from put the coil and wick in for me so i could use it right away and also put some spare wire etc so i can some myself. just weird it was reading 1.6ohm which is right she checked it before she sent me it and then it changes to random numbers and doesnt work properly lol


i notice now when i lower watts the ohm goes lower, is that normal?

ignore that it changed again now lol was 4w and 1.8ohm, now 7w and 1.6ohm lol it was going down but now just random

I agree, I have had this a couple of times. The only way I have found to get a steady reading is rewrap the coil. A jumping Ohm reading indicates a short or similar if I remember correctly.

You can live with 0.1 or 0.2 if your adjusting the coil.

But 1.6 to 9.9, you definitely have a short

yeah sounds like a lil short - rewrap your coil and trim the tils up against the posts and yeah you might only get 4 draws out of it depending how much liquid you put in

moved coil a bit and tightened back its its reading 1.4ohm now hasnt changed numbers so far, is not much vapour coming from it though

Can i suggest watching some youtube video material. Some great coil tutorial stuff on there & some safety points too. Best of luck.
