Going to be starting making my own coils, Clapton ones and wondered what's the best gauge Wire. I was thinking maybe 26 and maybe 32-34 these are just guesstimates so anyone can tell me which i would very much appreciate it :)

Claptons are usually made up of different gauges of wire outer, inner, core to suit your style of vaping...... can't help further as I usually buy a spools of clapton wire.... youtube it

@Rickster I know that's why i put 2 different gauges, 26 for the inner core and 32-34 for the outer, i will have a look around but thanks for the response.

Do you mean making a Clapton by twisting/spinning the two wires together or simply buying a Clapton spool of wire?
For a while I made the Clapton wire but in the end I opted to just buy different spools of pre made Clapton wire, is a lot easier.
Your gauges are about right. I would suggest getting a few different spools and see what works best for you.

Which wire material are you looking into @LordOdin? 24/26 for your core sounds right, outer wrap I barely even notice what they are, usually 36/38 or something

Thanks @Richard Winter I have ordered a Daedalus Coil Making Kit and looking into making all the different coil types, vaping seems to be my main hobby lately so thought i would try and take it to the next level. I have too much time on my hands also stuck indoors 24/7 thought i might try something more creative.

Good for you mate. It's certainly worth trying while as you say time is in abundance lol. Always good to master the technique.
As a rough guide, 22, 24, 26 for the core wire. 32, 34, 36 for the wrap wire.
Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

@JohnnyAce Thanks mate, i will be trying Kanthal A1 to start and then move on to SS and maybe Nickel.

Probably start at 24g then, just check on Steam Engine the amount of wraps per coil you want & the ohm's your aiming for. Then look around a coils & wires being sold for the outer wrap, looking at a few on FT they seem to be 32g
