I tend to use 316L, as this is what most devices come standard to support-but with most mods that do SS, you can adjust TCR anyway.
At first, I did find better results with SS317L, but now 316L is working great, and I have switched to that.
Now-this goes against everything and everyone else-but for some reason, 317L worked spaced, 316L did not-it was when I started making them contact coils that it worked for me. I know this is incorrect-but it is the only way I got consistent results with 316L-before it would kick me out of temp mode, or drop power so much there was no production at all.
This was even with custom CSV's for my exact build, down to gauge, wraps and leg length.
So-not saying it is the RIGHT way to do it, just what worked for me.
I have no idea why the incorrect way worked, but I now use SS316L with great results.
