Coils giving burnt taste very quickly - advice to avoid?

Good advice above = breaking in + wicking issues are at play here. Will have a think re. alternate tanks - it is though just different coils you may need for tc - stainless steel ones (ss). You can likely get these for yr current attomiser/ tank.
TC40w only does ni and ti. I've got 2 of the things and it always annoys me that they didn't include ss on the board. I never build ti or ni200

While the suggestions posted are spot on, they aren't going to really help when he starts chain vaping will they? Or am I missing something?

Nope, merely an explanation as to what is happening and why.

Explain and educate, and then advise.

Well at least I'm now pretty sure that's the issue! Wasn't sure before if there was something else that I was missing. There's also been plenty of good info re. RTA's and TC, things I'm not currently familiar with, but that do sound like they'd help avoid burnt coils. Do you have any different suggestions?

Thanks, had not realised this - mind you I'm still trying to get my head around all the different options and terminology as far as RTA and TC goes - only just read about 5 mins ago what Ni, Ti, SS etc even mean! This vaping thing gets complicated fast...

I have read the Innokin Zenith or Jacvapour coils last longer, so may get one of these, or try the whole RTA thing (have another thread on the go about this btw, sorry for any overlap!)

If you're chain vaping an RDA is a better option IMO. I use a wasp nano more often than any other RDA I own (fasttech for around a tenner). It's small, single coil, performs well, easy to build and is easily cleaned if you're using different juices. Takes a minute to swap out cotton (costs pennies) if you take it too far. I can get 5 or 6 long hard pulls in quick succession before I need to juice the cotton.

You'll get to grips with it quite quickly buddy don't worry. I was the same when I first started but you'll see the same terminology used regularly on the forum so it'll all become second nature

Aaargh, another bit of lingo to look up (RDA)! Thanks for the suggestion though, have bookmarked the wasp nano - my initial thought is it sounds like a bit of a pain having to constantly drip more juice, and not very practical for on-the-go - but OK, I can see the benefits, and like the idea of more flavour, & changing flavour more easily.

I think for now though I'm going to try a Zenith tank (which apparently has TC coils coming out soon, so can see if TC mode helps), then if problems persist will look into RTA/RDA in future.

A lot of nice and knowledgeable folk here to help so you'll be grand. I spent the first 6 months of my vaping journey going to my local vape shop every few days for stock coils b cause I chain vaped and used a smok mod and coils. Of course, the shop owner was only too glad to see me in spending money

That's a drawback with an RDA for sure. It is manageable but certainly less convenient than an RTA when you're out and about. The same benefit of switching cotton cheaply and quickly applies to an RTA though but if you've burnt your cotton then the juice can become tainted.

Trial and error m8. I'd go with your suggestion and see how you get on

There’s been some good recommendations for decent stock coil tanks on here recently = use the search function in the top right.
