There's loads of amazing help and guides in here but most of you never say what diameter your coils are. The other info is always there, gauge of wire , number of wraps etc but today I've been mucking around with smaller and larger things to wrap around. What do most of you do 1mm? 2mm? 3mm? Etc etc. Just curious :)

i use either a micro screwdriver ( no idea what size it is maybe about 1.5mm) , a tooth pick or for nano coils the blunt needle from syringe for juice bottle which is prob less than 1mm

My problem is that I can't get micros to stay as tight as I want unless I torch them while on whatever I use to wrap it around. So it has to be metal. Similarly I'd been using some little screwdrivers with no idea how big it was. Wifey today has bought me a ruler type thing with the holes in it with sizes next to each hole. So I now know my goto thing was a 3.5mm screwdriver. After much box shuffling ive found some bits and made some 2mm,3mm and 1.5mm coils going to have a play when this tank empties.

No idea what to call the plastic thing, but it's used to measure knitting needle etc diameter so I now know what size all my coiling jobbies are.

I use the little blue screwdriver that is supplied with most atty's,leaving the screwdriver in place I then attach the coil to the atty when I am satisfied with the position I remove the screwdriver and check the coil for ohms if all is well I attach the atty to my mod, I then pulse the coil to heat up the coil when it's hot I then use tweezers to compress the coil ...simples

Microcoil of 8 wraps of .3 Kanthal around a M3 screw (2.86mm) = 1.8ohms. Fits nicely in my Kayfun Lite. For my protanks I use .2 Kanthal with 8 or 10 wraps around a 2mm drill bit to give 1.6 - 1.8ohms.

use the shank end of a drill bit, nice and solid to work with, size is a known and will take a torching if nec. Its what I use,if rebuilding a genny use the drill that fills the wick hole build a coil and fit, check ohms then roll mesh to fit snuggly, gently twist thru coil and into tank.

My goto winding former is a 2.5 mm drill bit or an 18 G blunt needle from a syringe, though lately I've been using my dripper mostly which has wicks made from 4mm Voodoo Wool with a 2.5mm drill bit through the centre then the coil wound onto that.

I usually wrap around a drill that is .5mm less than the wick hole. Usually 2.5mm on the RSST and 2mm on other gennies.

I don't really get on with gennies TBH so I've been mainly playing around to try and find an optimum size/resistance for my russian.
