Confused dot com

Welcome mate and I will agree that you have come to the right place, not just because of the wealth of experience and advice but because the people here are so happy to share the experience and advise without referring you to he search function, me included.

I started with a cigalike (looks a bit like a Benson) and very soon moved on to an ego battery with a CE4 (small single wick tank)
Massive improvement, cigalikes ar crap when you are a heavy smoker.

I then move up to an evic (big adjustable voltage gizmo with flashy screen) and quite a lot of different tanks and atomisers

I have since got in to rebuildables, drippers and now on a kayfun (you will hear a lot about kayfuns)

It might take a while for you to find what device/juice/flavour/strength/mix but when you get there you will love it

Speaking of the search function, give it a go, have a read up and ask loads of questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question ;)

Hi Steve Jo- did you get yourself a kit? £40 will get you the kit no probs. A vaping stick comes in two parts, the battery and the clearomiser. The clearomiser has a threaded lid/mouthpiece- this is where you drip the liquid into and screws onto the battery.

I can`t believe how good these things are - once you get started I`m confident you will ditch the cigs for good-its the best thing I`ve ever bought and a real pleasure puff with no cravings, way to go!

Thanks very much for all of the information and advice, I think I will order an MVP V2 as after a bit of research and the fact it has a 2600 mAh battery this looks like it is a good bit of kit (and gadgety). I will have a look at the liquids you guys have mentioned and try a high strength to start with, as I am smoking 30+ cigs a day. Again thanks for the help and I will let you know how I am getting on. Steve J

hi Steve Jo

:welcome1:

it's a bit annoying that the upfront investment is quite high and comes when you are still buying smellies. BUT it's worth borrowing the money because by month 2 or 3 you will have easily saved the initial outlay of money for the equipment.

I have several small areas of obsessive compulsive disorder which manifests itself in several ways. I won't go into all of them as they are a yawn but one used to be cigarettes (always having exactly 11 packs unopened available) which has been replaced by an equally obsessive habit of having several batteries charged and ready to take out and at least two spares as well as the one I am using to be in my bag/pocket to take with me and a bottle of goo and one spare, clean cart in case the other breaks or malfunctions (neither of which has happened yet but just in case..) I wash and hair dryer dry my carts every day and poke thinly rolled good quality tissue up their ends for good dry next use, which isnt the next day usually because I have about 10 usable carts.

So I owned a lot of pre-made ego T's, CE5 rebuildable carts and shedloads of menthol-flavour-based goos. Everyone has their own favs in flavours but my always reliable to do the trick is (almost everything with) menthol.

I still have all my original ego-T batteries and they are still working well, so nothing wrong with them, they are all 1100 proper ego type batteries I bought from June from ebay, various sellers, about £7 each plus 99p post unless you buy a few then the post comes down. I bought a VV one in August which is nice if you have a cold or just want to have a low vape session. That one cost me about £10 inc post.

I started off with ce4 carts which I had to wash from the top. Not good for me as they take forever to get completely dry. Then I went onto ce4/5 which you can take apart but not rebuild. These are better then the top clean type and can be washed and dried pretty quickly. Then I went onto the ce5 proper ones which you can change the wick on if you run them down to very low a lot, as I tend to do. If you keep the ce5 proper ones at 3/4+ full the wicks seem to last forever but if you're busy working doing other things or just forget, plan on a wick change every couple of weeks for your most used cart. They are only 90p and take like 30 secs to change.

If I had to start from scratch I'd buy

5 x ce5s £7.49
5 x wicks 4.50
1 ego-Y 4.50 (you charge the batteries separate)
1 pack 4 x 14500 3.7v Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries 2200mAh + Smart / Car Charger £14.50 turns itself off when batteries are charged for safety, charges 2 batteries to full in an hour and a half.
a 4 pack spare batteries same as above £4.00 comes with a plastic battery holder
1 30ml bottle of ultra menthol goo 24mg £5.40

Ask around for other people who are now vaping, most will share knowledge and "bits" with you.

The real knowledge source is here though. If you can be bothered to put an hour in reading you can learn heaps and save your health and money. They have been real kind and nice to me.

Not in a hurry mate going to start vaping again in the new year when the holiday madness is over, so I will take my time to look at the kit an MVP V2 is looking favourite as I mentioned earlier in this thread, thank you for your help and I have found this to be a very friendly forum with loads of advice.

the evod kit isnt cheapo bud just that myepack does great prices I got my mvp 2 vv/vw mod from them for 40quid thats a bad boy if thats a route you wanna take and as @u8myufo said quick delivery I ordered mine at 3pm on a thursday by 11am friday it was in my hands 20 hours cant fault em at all the mvp two is good because the battery is contained within it and you can use it while its on charge also the kit from myepack comes with an iclear 30 tank which can hold 3ml of juice so not so much refilling

Thanks Ninja, I have seen two mvp 2's the iTaste and a Innokin, just worried that the mvp's have built in batteries, and would at some point need replacing, they may however outpace devices with rechargeable and replaceable batteries. thanks for the help there is loads of good advice on here, so I am confident that come 2014 I will be a confirmed vaper/non smoker.

OK here we go,
Ego - C A type of battery unit, probably the most popular of the starter types and comes in different sizes The higher the mah number the longer it lasts.

Clearomiser, the tank with the juice in, basic ce4 ones are disposable last about a week and have wicks dangling down into the juice.

Spinner - basically a type of Ego battery with a control on the end you can spin to change how much vapour you get - a bit more expensive than standard Ego's

Wicks - the little stringy things you see inside some tanks, the need to be kept wet with juice to get a good vape

Evods - a type of tank, similar to the ce4 clearomiser but has a replaceable head in the bottom of the tank, these work really well - in fact I'm using one now to Vape "Main Squeeze" By Epic Juice from Spiritus Vapes

VV/VW - This is a family of devices including the MVP2, The Vamo, and the SVD, They all have controls to vary the amount of vapour you get from you chosen atomiser/tank/clearomiser. The MVP2 is Box shaped and is a good choice for someone who wants to be able to use just one device even while it's charging, the others we can advise you on as necessary

My recommendation Would be to go either with a starter kit Like the Evod kit from Myepack or if you can go to a Brick & Mortar shop you could mix and match and also test out juices, since it is so close to christmas I wold say if you buy online pick the guaranteed delivery option to make sure you get your gear on time...

Thanks mate I have printed out your easy guide as I am buying this weekend ready for the new year.
