Confused dot com

Hi Steve Jo- did you get yourself a kit? £40 will get you the kit no probs. A vaping stick comes in two parts, the battery and the clearomiser. The clearomiser has a threaded lid/mouthpiece- this is where you drip the liquid into and screws onto the battery.

I can`t believe how good these things are - once you get started I`m confident you will ditch the cigs for good-its the best thing I`ve ever bought and a real pleasure puff with no cravings, way to go!

Thanks mate, once I decide that is it no going back this time.

hi @Steve Jo

:welcome1:

it's a bit annoying that the upfront investment is quite high and comes when you are still buying smellies. BUT it's worth borrowing the money because by month 2 or 3 you will have easily saved the initial outlay of money for the equipment.

I have several small areas of obsessive compulsive disorder which manifests itself in several ways. I won't go into all of them as they are a yawn but one used to be cigarettes (always having exactly 11 packs unopened available) which has been replaced by an equally obsessive habit of having several batteries charged and ready to take out and at least two spares as well as the one I am using to be in my bag/pocket to take with me and a bottle of goo and one spare, clean cart in case the other breaks or malfunctions (neither of which has happened yet but just in case..) I wash and hair dryer dry my carts every day and poke thinly rolled good quality tissue up their ends for good dry next use, which isnt the next day usually because I have about 10 usable carts.

So I owned a lot of pre-made ego T's, CE5 rebuildable carts and shedloads of menthol-flavour-based goos. Everyone has their own favs in flavours but my always reliable to do the trick is (almost everything with) menthol.

I still have all my original ego-T batteries and they are still working well, so nothing wrong with them, they are all 1100 proper ego type batteries I bought from June from ebay, various sellers, about £7 each plus 99p post unless you buy a few then the post comes down. I bought a VV one in August which is nice if you have a cold or just want to have a low vape session. That one cost me about £10 inc post.

I started off with ce4 carts which I had to wash from the top. Not good for me as they take forever to get completely dry. Then I went onto ce4/5 which you can take apart but not rebuild. These are better then the top clean type and can be washed and dried pretty quickly. Then I went onto the ce5 proper ones which you can change the wick on if you run them down to very low a lot, as I tend to do. If you keep the ce5 proper ones at 3/4+ full the wicks seem to last forever but if you're busy working doing other things or just forget, plan on a wick change every couple of weeks for your most used cart. They are only 90p and take like 30 secs to change.

If I had to start from scratch I'd buy

5 x ce5s £7.49
5 x wicks 4.50
1 ego-Y 4.50 (you charge the batteries separate)
1 pack 4 x 14500 3.7v Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries 2200mAh + Smart / Car Charger £14.50 turns itself off when batteries are charged for safety, charges 2 batteries to full in an hour and a half.
a 4 pack spare batteries same as above £4.00 comes with a plastic battery holder
1 30ml bottle of ultra menthol goo 24mg £5.40

Ask around for other people who are now vaping, most will share knowledge and "bits" with you.

The real knowledge source is here though. If you can be bothered to put an hour in reading you can learn heaps and save your health and money. They have been real kind and nice to me.

Thanks Hilary, just what I need an OCD smoker turned vaper, my compulsion was that I had enough cigs for the next morning/day at least and lighters filled and a box of matches as a back up. Then when I went on to the gammuci e-cigs one battery on charge one in use and enough cartomizers to last at least a week + plus cigs just in case lol. I have printed your post and will look at what your dream kit would be like. Thanks Hun.

Can't go far wrong with a basic ego battery (get a few) and a CE clearomiser or evod or pro tank. All give you a good vape, not too pricey and can be rebuilt if/when you get on to that.
I still use my ego's and evod tanks for going out as they are nice and small.
At home I have a couple of mods and drippers which give an even better vape but more difficult to carry around with you.
If you are a heavy smoker you will need at least 24mg nicotine. Take your time and learn as you go. Good luck with it.

Thrilled about you starting, you got not idea how good you will feel in 2014 :5:

Ok, just purchased the following a bit expensive but you have to speculate to accumulate and if it gets me off stinkys then it is a small price to pay, I will let you know how I am getting on. Also thank you all for your encouragement and advice. Steve J
