Confused where to start.com

I'm looking for some advice please. Ok, so I've decided to have a go at mixing for myself and have looked around the forum and confused myself even more than when I started. I know where to shop for my bits, I know where to get calculators etc from but I have no idea of what I need to start. My target mix will be 18mg in strength, with a PG/VG mix, say 50/50 to make things easier. Would my base PG and VG bottles be 18mg or 36???

I'm not worried actual dilution etc at this stage as I can follow a recipe for that, but i'm aiming to have the bases etc brought and in front of me and want to make sure I'm buying the right amounts/strengths

I start off by mixing a base mix that has a 26 Mg per ML nicotine content and is 50/50 VG/PG - by the time I add flavours and a little vodka - most of my mixes come out at between 16 and 24 MG/ML

To buy base I'd suggest some of the 52 MG/ML from cig-eliquid and a corresponding sized bottle of VG and a smaller one of PG.

(My 26 mg /ml mix base consists of cutting some of cig-eliquid's base in half with VG)

Get some syringes Terry - with blunt needles - Liberty Flights do them. 1 ml for drawing and measuirng flavours and a 5ml, 10ml or 30ml for mixing your nicotine base with VG or PG - depending on how many and how big the bottles you are going to mix up will be. Thye make life easier and precision easier. when you spec. the needles 14 gauge are the biggest diameter LF do and the best - though they still struggle with the thickness of VG.

ok, first question!!! On the site, i've seen 250ml DIY Mixing VG Liquid, 250ml DIY Mixing PG Liquid, happy with that. Base nicotine liquid 52mg I've only seen in PG and it is only 18ml or 250ml....is this what I should be buying?

Sounds interesting this mix it yourself stuff, will try it myself one day in the meantime if you need any testers :wink-new: lol

this is where I get my Nic from, great quality and a good range of sizes. Personally I mix everything from scratch, I don't make up a big batch of base to add flavour when needed. I know it's probably easier in the long run but I'm just not that good at maths. I just use the ejuice app to get my measurements as its idiot proof and trust me-I'm an idiot

Personally 75ml of pg based 52ml Nic lasts me ages but I've recently cut down to 6mg in my mixes. I use vg which is cheapest from boots (£1.20 odd for 200ml). I don't like pg so don't add any extra. I water the vg down with dionised water (99p from wilkinsons) although many folks like to use vodka instead. Even when I was vaping at 12mg that much Nic would last me 4-5 months. Cig-eliquid is a great supplier, always very quick and great clean quality, and he also is the home of the infamous spikey thing which is well worth picking up whilst you are there.
