What's new

Considering we have 8000 members why so apathetic?

Sorry, I am not having a go at POTV. I do realise there are a lot of people working for us vapers and thank you to all of them.
It just seems that I and all vapers do not matter in the eyes of those that have the power to turn our lives backwards.

And many of us have been campaigning heavily for months to change the minds of those in power across various sources with actually a pretty decent result overall - it is only down to the way in which article 18 was drafted and put through that means we are resorting to even stronger tactics - something that should not have been needed.

Our very own @ desevaper gave me an idea after a few days for it to percolate......

He might have assisted an influential person to sign the efvi.

Now, thanks to the wonders of modern technology and Facebook......my phone is full of friends email addresses, the thought occurs that you could help your friends and family to help a good cause, if you were so inclined. Many people probably have a works email address book too......

Now, I suppose this is ethically risky, but its no good taking the moral high ground if you dont have a leg to stand on. We know these crappy rules were pushed through using corruption, bribery and other dirty tricks, maybe its time we fought back in kind.

I must say that I am disappointed with the feedback I requested off a friend who, after deciding to check out an ecig at her local b+m shop went through a full demo and purchase of a kit and liquid with ZERO mention of EFVI, no posters, no request to sign, no knowledge of it whatsoever until I asked her about it.

The main issue here is the shop wasn't just a random B+M popup shop somewhere or a corner shop selling them but an ECITA founding member. Sorry guys and Doodlebug but IMHO, ECITA paid up members should have been all over this much faster than little independent vendors and certainly making an effort to display even some form of details about EFVI to promote it within a shop. Yesterday I got a couple of emails from other ECITA founding or paid up members to request we all get together for signatures whereas most of the small vendors on here who are operating full time with minimal staff or resources have been plugging this for weeks.

We keep re-hashing over what regular vapers can be doing about this but when larger companies are not doing their bit what hope do the smaller ones have to make a difference?

You have to mix loyalty to the cause with customer satisfaction. No new user is going to understand the issue, and forcing it down their throats is likely to turn them off the idea completely. You can't expect someone to join a cause on account of the most minute display of interest.

I signed the petition the first time I came on this site. It's across the main banner so it's pretty visible. Unlike other people who have been much more active politically I had not emailed my MP or anything else until today. I have just lost a very close friend of mine to lung cancer and want to prevent any one else from such needless preventable loss if I can. Time and energy are issues for many of us. Those who can will do what they can to raise support for this issue but it will not always be practical for all of us but when we spot an issue and can help we should all do what we can to the best of our abilities, we may not all be able to do much but between us if we all take what small steps we can we will get there.
