Constant loud crackle popping

It could have happened at any stage, when forming the fused clapton wire, coiling or fitting, it is easy to pull on the clapton wrap and inadvertently space it. Would recomend you have a good look at the coils when you first get them. At least you know what to look out for now . Glad your all sorted.

Dry burn for hotspots would have shown this right? I get crackle and popping when my coil is heating unevenly.
