Very interesting way of looking at it and maybe the gov should put a bit more time and effort into reporting correctly instead of just saying comparison between countries is very complicated.

And instead of just saying "We have taken the right steps at the right time to combat it, guided at all times by the best scientific advice" no matter what!

Another thing to take into account is landmass - density of population to area ... places where people are closer together are likely to be worse as a virus will spread faster in an area where people are closer together

so death toll is going to be by many factors size of population - how closely Packed that population are The type of lockdown etc - I think these are much bigger contributing factors than the politics of it all (still should have happened earlier a bit hind sight is a wonderful thing).

Anyone seen anything about this anti lockdown picnic gathering in London on the 13th?

I cannot believe how some of you think this is even acceptable.... the death rate will soon surpass the total civilian deaths from WW2... mind boggling. Especially as they had at least 2 months notice.
