The problem is that there are so many different variables in play - population, population density, that we are an island, the government and their response, the public and their behaviour, the list goes on. It's kinda pointless to compare death rates as there are huge differences between how countries record deaths, the quality of their healthcare and how their people behave. What we have to concentrate on right now is how to protect people, that is what is important, we can go through all the who, what,when, where, why, how later.
Has the government made mistakes? Yes
Has Boris made mistakes? Yes
Has the public made mistakes? Yes
Has there been a whole lot of other factors we have considered and not considered? Yes.

Let's all do what we can to stop people dying, stay safe, keep others safe and then investigate and learn when this is over.

My only gripe with that is we could do with learning from some of those Far Eastern countries right now ......... and on quite a few points that's not happening.

Glad you agree, but my main point was the fact that the media are currently hyping it up that we have reached 30k deaths, higher than Italy, the worst in Europe, and most of the public seems to be going along with the hype, with no thought about the facts at all.

Absolutely we should be learning as we go, the point I was trying to make is that some of our learning about reporting etc and a whole post mortem should be later. We should be keeping an eye on other countries and learning from their successes and their failures but we don't seem to be at the moment at all.
