Coronavirus UK Daily Statistics

Can you remember Teflon’s poster of that ?
No. But if the gist was that cats are cunts then he’s not the titbasket everyone thinks he is. Not me, I always thought he was ace - I’m just vocalising what other people think. But who cares? People are idiots. Unless they are saying “that Mawsley is a sex god and I want to swim in his seed”. Who wouldn’t. It’s great seed. Me, actually. I’d not do that, it sounds horrible. Fuck those cunts who’d sloosh about in my man custard. What wierdos.

Here is a list of countries by population density UK is sitting 32nd
Out of the countries above us how many have a higher death count?

Excellent bit of data, apart from.................
Macau is not a country, but an administrative area of China, as is Hong Kong, which to an extent distorts the population density figures.
Same with the UK, and Gibraltar, and Bermuda, take those into account, the UK density figures increase slightly.
This is a highly dubious chart to use in this context, unless you combine the areas of any country together.
It would be like excluding the figures from Rome (the vatican city) from the rest of Italy, or Catalonia from Spain.
How would it work with Cyprus, separate density figures for Turkish Cyprus, and Greek Cyprus.
What about the countries with areas separated by a "military no go zone" such as North & south Korea, that would be interesting, a defector crosses into the no go zone with covid, and dies before he gets to the other side, that would mean the no go zone has a 100% mortality rate, but if he has survived it in his encounter, the no go zone has a 100% survival rate...........................

Another thing to take into account is landmass - density of population to area ... places where people are closer together are likely to be worse as a virus will spread faster in an area where people are closer together

so death toll is going to be by many factors size of population - how closely Packed that population are The type of lockdown etc - I think these are much bigger contributing factors than the politics of it all (still should have happened earlier a bit hind sight is a wonderful thing).

Anyone seen anything about this anti lockdown picnic gathering in London on the 13th?

natuaral selection is likely to win out

We are a relatively small island with a lot of people

Exactly.

I cannot believe how some of you think this is even acceptable.... the death rate will soon surpass the total civilian deaths from WW2... mind boggling. Especially as they had at least 2 months notice.

Now here's an interesting fact, that sort of puts things into perspective.
In 1918 the Spanish Flu epidemic infected an estimated 500 million people worldwide, and killed an estimated 20 to 50 million people.
As to 2 months notice, well they did have that in WW2 you know, little things like Germany re-arming itself, invading Poland, etc, etc......................

Mexico city and London are similar size and population.
Here are the stats for Mexico City

I cant find the stats for London but i would guess they are a lot higher.

Not much actually.

As several people have said, population density (even in same size cities) is not the only part of the puzzle.

But to put the figures into some sort of context, London, and Mexico City do indeed have very similar population figures of 8.9 million, you say Mexico City has a death total of 543, London has a total 627. So the figures in the two different cities are "diddly squit mate" work the percentage out if you like, I can't be bothered.
But, it depends on what criteria the death figures are based on.

As an old friend of mine who was an accountant once said to me "give me a set of data, and I can make it read whatever you want it to read" :)

Still doesnt escape the fact that we have the 2nd highest death rate in the world going by current stats.
We are not the densest per population either
I cant find any chart listing China population and density
but will try Cities by density
London sits at #43
How many of the cities above do you reckon have a higher death count than London?

it’s about opinion and view point

I understand why you think that - I understand your viewpoint and how that would lead you to believe this is all down to mismanagement rather than a very contagious virus doing its thing.

not everyone’s viewpoint is that tho - I get you may find it hard to understand that, I do - and neither am I saying my view is right and yours is wrong

everyone’s viewpoint is valid.

I find it difficult to understand how people are ignoring population density and landmass and just the randomness of biological virus migration when quoting figures - figures we know are already reported differently from all countries.

bit I get that some people feel that way. It’s all about personal makeup.

True.
You can take an opinion on population density, cultural differences, underlying health problems, etc, etc.
Today it was announced that research has now shown that people from an ethnic minority are four times as likely to die from covid.
All very concerning, but as our scientific, and medical (not just our, but the worlds) research is limited to what it can do in the short term, should not all of this be concentrated into finding a bloody cure / vacine for everybody !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember my own words as this all started - " It's the flu - i can't see what the fuss is about"

So did I mate.
But have you seen my earlier post about deaths from normal winter flu, from some figures earlier this week said it was about 10,000 a year average.
Yes, it's tragic, and I am not particularly against the "lockdown" (fucking hate that american saying) however, thanks to the hype, mainly from the media, I think it is simply panicking a lot of the population.

Not much actually..

Maybe not but still higher.
Is the UK not supposed to be an advanced nation compared to some of these other countries, so should have been better prepared.
We cant even get some plastic protective gear for our health service, but we sure know how to clap our hands.
Fat load of good that done us.
What we should have done from square one is shut up the borders
No planes, No boats and closed the channel tunnel.
As an advanced nation we should be self sufficient.
