I feel it needs saying the between the 'died' and the 'didn't die' there are also thousands of people sick in hospital needing active care? Reducing the argument to the death figures seems to miss the point a bit?

we have a work acquaintance in our buildings (tho he moved elsewhere recently) who has not been around for a bit - fit guy, gym three times a week rides a huge motorbike - turns out within a week he got covid, went from not being able to smell or taste to having been in hospital in an induced coma on a ventilator for the last three months. While he’s been under he’s had a heart attack, two minor strokes and a tracheotomy.

not sure when or if they are reviving him, but if he does come through his life is not going to be the same again - horrific. Really nice Bloke too.

or nightingale hospitals all over the UK

or we will inject 20 million people with a vaccine

all those things take nurses which we don't have, a ventilator takes a team of 20 to run it's not like "on ya pop will be back in an hour" I love people quoting figures because that's just great it's like when im told in the early days "we have 20 thousand items of PPE delivered" yeah great 20 thousand shoe covers just pure class
