Hello all! I really do apologise if this has been asked 100 times already but I'm getting confused now and kind of worried. Also, all the discussions I've found on Google just seem to fly onto some other topic.

I thought I had it sussed! Deionised water is the way to go for diluting VG. I've been diying now for about 3 months but always used 100% VG. I mixed 15% DI water into my vg and made up about 300ml of various flavour e liquid, left it to steep and brought a few 10 ml bottles of said liquid to work with me tonight.

After reading a bit... it now seems that distilled water is the way to go? No one seems to be sure and there seems to be only a bit said in various forums before the topic changes.

I read Grizwalds guide to mixing last night and have read others say deionised is fine... can be bought from a car parts shop?

So this morn I bought some from local garage?

But now I'm reading that Deffo don't buy from a garage... only pharmacy grade!?

Haha, I think you'll get the idea... anyone shed some light on this?

As you at be able to tell I'm starting to get a bit stressed here now! :S

i would have thought using either wont do you much harm, well no more harm than all the shit most of us inhale everyday anyway.

one goes through various filters one is cooled steam as far as i know

try both if one kills you dont use that one again lol

Thank you. I think its when I came across a couple of 'DO NOT USE DEIONISED' posts when searching Google that got me! Tbf, most of what is have read has said neither will harm but distilled spin probably better. I'm sure this batch will be fine and ill just use distilled next time. Also, I'm sure I've read that plenty of juice vendors use deionised - before I started diy, I think it was better not knowing what went into it! Haha! Ignorance us bliss and all that.

very true that bit fella

I think deionised is not recommended because it has the minimum of treatment done to it. It has trace minerals removed and undergoes a process that is not necessarily sanitary. Where as distilled by definition is more suitable because it has no minerals present and has been boiled, so is cleaner. I personally use vodka :)

I worked in a lab for 17 years. There are many types of water treatment. Deionised or distilled give essentially the same product, it just depends how well it has been done, how pure the water is and whether the water is suitable for human consumption ie. hygenic or just cooling systems, irons etc.

Distilled water is the steam from boiling water which is condensed and collected. Deionised water can be produced by many methods these differ in the purity and quality of the water produced.

Please dont use water from halfords and the like. Ask in the chemists for Purified water BP or buy from a good vape seller.
