Hey guys. I have the same issue with two of my devices- an istick Pico and a Joytech cuboid 150. When selecting SS mode (or TCR mode set up for SS316) on the device, I press the button and it just switches back to VW modest to 20w.

I'm using SS316 coils in my RTA's - a Crius v3 and a Billow v3. I'm using the same tanks/coils on my rx200 without issue.

Any thoughts?

I've had this problem more with ss316 than other wires.
I'm sure that there are better qualified apes to explain it, but ss316 is not the easiest wire to use in tc. Something about your build makes the mod think it's not acting the way it thinks ss316 should act so is putting it back into wattage.
I persevered and now have ss316 playing fairly nicely. I find you need to space your coils, go gentle on the wicking (it doesn't like too much cotton), and absolutely make sure you are putting the atty on the mod when it is absolutely cold.

Whats happening is that the mod is not seeing enough (or any) resistance change as the coil heats up. This convinces the mod that you are using a Non TC wire so it swithces back to VW mode. As @vapellie says this is almost always a problem with your build, check that it's above the minimum resitance level, make sure your coils are spaced and that you don't have any excess wire at the terminals. The other thing to check is that you are getting a stable connection on your 510, and that there is enough space betwwen the centre pin and the threaded outer so that you aren't getting a partial short when you connect the atty...

I'm pretty much new to tc vaping and still going through the learning process but I have noticed that forgetting attylock/resistance lock for just one press of the fire button confuses the hell out of the chip when using SS.

Thanks @Tubbyengineer you were right, the problem was my build. I tightened up the grub screws in my Crius' yesterday and since then everything's been going smoothly.

Yeah, it can be a fussy finicky wire, then you have to patiently wait for it to cool back down, gaaaah!

I got exact same problem with my Hcigar heartBeat DNA 40 using nickel coils. Both stock coils and RBA. I have no issues with DNA 200 or with my Vapor Flask DNA 40. Even the clone Flask with kangxin 40are much more stable.

Also had the same problem now and again, invariably down to my forgetting to 'reset' the mod when changing atty by firing atty-free to zero the sensor. Given time to cool down and resetting before trying again always seemed to sort it.
