I started using digital scales to mix this week - why isn't everyone doing it?!

It's made mixing SO much quicker and more consistent and the kit cost me about a tenner. Seriously, it's a no brainier. If you're not already, get on it.

Just need a graduated cylinder now so I don't have to draw 30ml of VG into a syringe.

Scales are totally the way to go (imho!). I've used weight for ages now, much prefer the speed and accuracy you get with it.

Dumbass question ... you need to break it down for me ... for example, I'm making 10ml of juice so how do I weigh 0.5ml of concentrate and 9.5ml of PG/VG/nic base mix? Is this faster than using syringes?

You need to first work out how much 1ml of liquid weighs, then you're away. Or you could use an app like Liquix, that already knows the weight of PG and VG. It might jot be worth it if you're using a premixed PG/VG/NIC and just the one concentrate, it might not save you much time. When you start doing 17.64ml of VG and 0.83ml of Nic, scales are seriously efficient.

PG*is 1.04 grams per ml
VG is 1.26 grams per ml
Almost sure that's right (it's been on my clipboard forever)

How would you know how much 1ml of each concentrate you use weighs? If you are using someone else's recipe the measurements will me in ml or percentages, to convert either of these to grams would be near impossible!

That said, I can see that if you are developing your own mixes, or making up juice from your own recipe (where everything was written down in grams), then it could be a real time saver.

I would go by the weight of the liquid it's suspended in, ie pg nic I would go as 1.04
I've not used scales yet as the most I mix in 1 bottle is 100ml so I'm still reading up
