If it's metal, take off the o-ring carefully so as not to damage it and then boil that beast. Otherwise for plastic ones you could use toothpaste I guess?
Mine get an occasional rinse under the tap(couldn't give a pigs burp if its hot or cold)but only if I can taste the previous juice from it.A vigorous shake to rid it of excess water & straight back on the atty.
