Thanks @MarylinC37, I thought I would chime in with my penny worth lol.
You should get a job as a bell ringer . . . . Excellent chime.

A very interesting read. Both @ZT and @MarylinC37 make some very good points. Neither are wrong just coming at it from different points of view.
Disposables along with pods, mods, AIOs, RTAs, RDA's, open system pods and closed system pods are all part of the vaping scene and as such none of them should be banned.
It's all about choice and the freedom to choose which suits your personal preference.
Banning one over others will probably lead to a decreasing spiral.
A disposable that's regulated and compliant with the laws of the land should be available for those that want one.
I fear you may have opened the floodgates to all manner of replies with this one lol.A few lazy thinkers perhaps, who can't get past moronically trotting out the same old stereotypes or hate being told they're wrong.
I agree I think it is too late because nothing is really being done about coming down hard on outlets that are selling illegal vapes and the vape industry (not all) are manufacturing these products that will eventually give the anti vapers so much ammunition.I don't disagree with anything you've said, but unfortunately it's too late.
I've just got back from town and in the window of one of those 'phone case' shops (you know the ones, they sell cases that you can buy on ebay for £3 for £9.99) and now they have displays of disposables next to displays of bottles of nitrites in the window.
This is why we can't have freedom and choice and this is why vaping will always ends up looking bad... and why it will all probably end up being banned or heavily restricted eventually. Leaving it be isn't an option, if we don't want them banned, then people better start thinking of an alternative pretty quickly (one that isn't doing nothing) because otherwise they will be.
I never wanted them banned, I never wanted the government involved at all.. but that relies on manufacturers, importers and vendors behaving themselves and being responsible.... and they aren't. Most of them don't care about vaping, they don't care about smokers and they don't care about legitimate vape businesses who have been doing things right all along and those are the people who are going to lose out in the end.
It's out of control and it needed to be wound in ages ago, but it just a repeat of when vape shops started turning into head shops selling vapes along with 'legal highs' ... those substances were of course banned, under pretty much a blanket ban in 2016 (I think around then?) and the same will happen again.
.. going back to Nitrites, they only escaped the 'legal highs' blanket because of the very vocal LBTQ folk who made a strong and united stand. They got that exemption by making a case for it to be an exemption, not by fighting against the whole ban saying people should be able to do whatever they want. It feels to me that we are in a similar position.
If nothing is done, then the disposable market might well kill vaping quicker than accepting the ban and fighting for the continuation of other products.
I think we've lost already, but I'm a pessimist. ... and because nothing was done 3 years ago.
The EU was pretty much forced to bring in liquid testing with the TPD, not because of people like Digbys and Manabush who were manufacturing in clean conditions and already having products tested but because of the irresponsibles who were selling liquid made in shitty conditions , with 'guess what' ingredients on market stalls. That shit should have outlawed from day one but no, everyone is all "I'll vape what I like bro, no law against it, it's way cheaper" and look where we ended up.. having to skirt around the law with short-fill and nicshots, having to be hush hush as DIYers, etc etc.
The government may well feel like it's hand is being forced now, if we keep giving them ammo we'll all end up shot.

It's like most things, the few spoil it for the majority. I also feel that the media are one of the main causes of mis information around vaping and people read or see it and worry. It's just how it all makes me feel, I could be wrong but it's what makes me worry about the whole situation.
I'm just sick of vaping always being under attack but I don't think that is ever going to change and often it doesn't feel like the industry as a whole cares much. Because they'll just move on to something else and continue to make money whatever happens. It really does feel as insidious as the tobacco industry sometimes...
(with the obvious exceptions)
