DNA20 Cloned Board Box Mod

Dexter

Just received the complete Hana mod clone kit .... not bad, surprised at how nice the aluminum box is.

Anyway, a couple of questions for you .....

I had a look at the data sheet for the genuine DNA20 and the clone DNA20 appears to be slightly different.
All the soldering points appear to be the same except the wires for the + and - buttons.
On the clone DNA20, if the board has the firing button facing up, on the right hand side just under where
the wires for the fire button go, there are 4 soldering points. They are labelled +KR- and -CH+, are these
where the + and - button wires go ?

Stupid question ..... bear in mind, this will be my first attempt at building my first mod :D
Do I need a hot glue gun to fix everything in place ?
Will any hot glue gun do the job ?

OK. Here's the connections:

-KL+ = wattage down
-KR+ = wattage up
-KW+ = firing switch
-OUT+ = atomiser out (+ to +, - to -)
-BT+ = battery in (+ to +, - to -)
+CH- = charging in (+ to +, - to -)

The up, down and firing switches are not +/- specific, so one wire to each ring.

Hope this helps? Good luck with it.

I also remove the on board firing switch.

Hot glue is definitely good for fixing the switches and board. Be very careful of the screen, as it will rip off of the board with little effort. What I do is get one if those double sided sticky pads, put it on the reverse if the board and stick the screen to it, so it is in the middle of the board. That might not work with the case you've got, so judge it for yourself - just be careful not to stress the little ribbon connector.

Don't go mad with the glue. Take your time, and you can fix everything in place very neatly. I use epoxy resin to secure the Atty connector.

No mate, not YET ;) Payday Friday, so hopefully some time this coming month :2thumbsup:

Thank you @Dexter !
I had no idea that group existed.
I'll be keeping a close eye on there in the future!

Good to see you've joined the group mate! I'm going to try and get some step by step guides upon over the next few months, so hopefully there'll be a bit more to see.

Please jump in and have a go - it really is an enjoyable thing to pass an hour or so, and at the end you get to taste the sweetest vape if your life - on a mod you've made yourself!

You don't have to make anything elaborate - a nice simple 14500 battery box mod is one of the most pleasing things you can make!

:2thumbsup:

Thanks again Dexter

My collection of components, battery holders and other bits is growing!
I just need some decent 510 connectors to mount on top of the mod and I'll be good to go.
I'm also waiting on a report from BaDaBooM on his new milling machine as I'm looking at improving the man-shed!

I've got some bits and pieces knocking around, so keep an eye on the group... ;) I did a tin mod challenge a few months ago, and I am thinking of doing something similar with some basic VV components to see what everyone comes up with. It's a bit of fun, and I get to share a little bit of POTV luuurrrvve, ha ha!

510 connectors are the bane of my life! If you find a decent one - feel free to PM me, and we'll buy the entire stock and start a 510 connector supply monopoly!

Don't start me on BaDaBooM's mill - green is the colour of envy, my friend - green! :D
