Do I need to stock up?

I noticed on another UK forum that people seem to be stocking up on nicotine from China as though Armageddon was upon us (I mean people buying multiple litres at a time). Have I missed something? I'm not stupid (well not very stupid) and I'm well aware of the TPD fiasco and the possible impending consequences. So, I just wanted to know if there is a deadline by which I have to get my nicotine imported?

However the Poisons Act allows us to import up to 75mg nicotine

I'm stocking up in case the poisons act gets changed. I wouldn't put anything past the powers that be.

Probably a stupid question but if you get your nicotine from a supplier in this country would it affect that? currently buying 72mg nic.

@KulrMeStupid does the Poisons Act apply to everyone or do you have to have licence to buy as private individuals? I am guessing businesses can buy for mixing but individuals won't be allowed to. As otherwise the law on nic liquids is effectively a joke. So anyway I am thinking that I need to stock pile some before 2016 as I currently vape at 36mg and if forced onto 20mg or lower will be straight back to just smoking.

What I find scary is, that we have no date. They have until 2016 to implement the new laws. But no one said they can't do it sooner. 2016 will be the latest date by which they have to get it done by. That's all.

It's still very unclear about how the legislation will affect nic base - there appears to be no specific clause to cover it, but I fear that the law stating the eliquid can only be purchased up to 20mg and up to 10ml will be applied to nic base as well.

The problem seems to stem from the fact that no-one who's been responsible for this legislation actually understands the products or the science behind them.

As we don't know how far reaching it will be, we're playing it safe and ensuring a good supply for the future. I have 1 litre of 72mg now - which should last me 12.5 years at current strength/vaping rates - but I will probably get more, just in case.

They won't ban it, but they plan on restricting it to a 20mg limit for unlicensed products.

Products that successfully achieve licensing through the MHRA will be able to have mg levels higher than 20mg.. which basically means products made by big pharma/big tobacco.
