Hey all...so I'm thinking about going from the igow dual coil to a comparable quad...right now I'm building my coils at 10/9 around my syringe with 28 gage kanthal and getting a perfect .6 ohms..so if I want the same .6 with a quad how many wraps should I use?

Thanks

i'm no expert on quads but i have dabbled theres plenty more people that may give better advice but i'd say if 10/9 is giving you a 1.2ohm coil 2 of them in dual would give you your 0.6ohms. then to get your 0.6ohm quad you'd need to make 4 x 2.4ohm coils so try a 20/19 wrap and see what that comes out as.

jayh has it right, on paper, but if 4 x 20 wraps sounds like a lot, that's because it is. It's also a lot of wire mass to heat up, so your set-up will be less responsive than the dual coil set-up you're used to. I'd suggest dropping down to a thinner wire - 29 or 30 gauge - and increasing the diameter of your coils a tad - maybe use a 1.5mm drill bit, or precision screwdriver. Maybe pick up the Vaper's Toolbox app (or similar) and run some variations?
