So i'm not having the best of luck with my latest purchase..

Had this RTA for a few weeks now, and just when it was starting to grow on me, it seems to have developed a leaking problem.

I don't think it's the wicking, because it only seems to happen when i'm changing the juice. I don't know if emptying the original juice and filling it back up breaks some kind of vacuum seal, but it's happened twice now in the last week.

Once I fill it up with the new liquid and try to vape after a few minutes, it feels really gurgly and get a tonne of hot spitback. Then when I when I try to blow into it [without pressing the fire button] the juice just pi$$es out the airflow; this isn't the case under normal use and would make me think the deck is getting flooded?

Is there any way to stop this? I don't want to have to re-wick it everytime I switch the juice out, am I just missing something really obvious?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Azzy.

Could be under powered or slightly under wicked.
What's the ohms reading and what power level are you putting through it?

Hello I have got couple of dovopo blottos. They have been vaping great. The only time I experience leaking was when the cotton touched the deck.

Couls you please show me a picture of your build

Firing 85w to a pair of fused claptons reading 0.12ohms - I was running them between 90-110w the last couple of days and it was absolutely fine, but since I changed the juice it's just not nice at all.

Seems to be making a crackling sound for a few seconds after I've stopped firing as well [don't know if this is related or just a random quirk].

I'm fairly sure if I empty it out and rewick it from scratch it will be fine again, but I like to switch up the flavours and if the cotton is still fresh then it just seems a bit of a waste.

Coil hot spotting could also be a culprit if as you say it was fine at 90-110w which seems about right if not still a bit low for a 0.12ohm build.

I am pretty new to coil building RTA and RDA's and have noticed that the wicking has got to be spot on, the first time i wicked the Profile 1.5 was great then a couple of times after that i suffered some leakage, so i made sure that the wicking was good and never had any problem since.

Don't have any of how it is just now, but here's how it was looking before being primed.

Thanks for the suggestion - I checked for hotspots before wicking, but is this something that could develop over time?

I'm going to re-wick it and give it another go, so i'll check for hotspots at the same time to see if that's part of the problem.

Try cranking it back upto 110w first.

Yeh I'm new to rebuilding as well, so my technique is far from perfect, but I figured if it was a wicking issue then it would have been leaking from day one.

The reality is it only starts leaking when I empty out the tank and try to replace it with a different liquid. Proper frustrating.
