When I’m using two batteries does my voltage double or stay at 4.2v? I’m just entering it into steam engine to check it all out..

The difference between single and dual battery mod (regulated) in 99% situations is max power output. Your build will decide what wattage you want to put on the coil. Simple words - doesn't matter what build you put on the mod as long as it is capable of putting needed power to it and supports your resistance.
