E-Juice - Having Trouble Finding One That I Like

At the moment, I'm only using a Mini Protank 3 on a Spinner, but I've the Itaste VV 3.0, Ego Twist, Aerotank and Innokin iClear X.I on the way.

I can't see how much difference these will make, because I'm not even getting much of a smell from the juices, both Chefs Vapour and Vapology, let alone much of a taste. I keep reading all these reviews on their products, with people praising the smell, analysing the taste in great depth, yet I get nothing. After 3 months off the cigs, surely my tastebuds must have improved a lot over this time?

I'll wait until the new gear and juices turn up, but it just seems that I'm throwing my money away at this point and maybe this vaping lark is just too subtle for me?

Hard to put my finger on it from here but it sounds like you're either doing something wrong, vaping method wise OR you taste buds are playing games with you.
There's no rule book for when your taste buds should return or how much/well they will & it is different for everyone. On the one hand if you have not been getting the benefit of flavour due to taste buds since you started vaping then what i have said might carry some weight.
On the other hand if your taste buds are returning in any way & you are firing flavours at them repeatedly then they are not getting a chance to do their stuff.
On top of that, if they do wake up fully or near on they can still come & go at any time. We all get vapers tongue now & then. It happened to me about 10 days ago & i was muted for about 4 days. When it happens it's good to recognize it & back off from overdoing things because no amount of trying will make those taste buds recover, it's a normal & natural process, they die off & regenerate & no two people are the same.
Think about it, we are asking our tongue to work well in between meals & snacks, they don't get a chance to rest.
When i started vaping & i was having the issue you're talking about i found the best course of action was to back off a bit & give some thought to what i was doing. Even now it can happen & there's normally a good reason why it goes muted, when it does.
If that new gear you're talking about doesn't fix it then i would suggest a different vaping method altogether.

If you can't find a ready made juice you like, have you thought about making your own. Then you can make the flavours as strong as you like with whatever nicotine level suits and balance PG and VG for throat hit, flavour and vapour production. There is plenty help and advice on DIY e-juice on this forum and elsewhere. Just a thought.

I started mixing my own within 2 weeks and haven't looked back. Totally Wicked's flavours are very strong and accurate, but to be fair I haven't tried that many others. By buying larger volumes and using discount codes I can also keep the price to about £1 / 10ml.

I've only been vaping for a couple of months, after giving up a 30 a day habit, but have been having major issues finding any that I'd be happy re-ordering, as I find the taste just too muted for my liking.

I originally tried 5 x Magnifecig juices, but they were cheap and for a good reason.

I then tried Lt Cigs and their juice went from mild to non existent, literally in the case of Chocomint!!

I then tried some 10ml juices from Chef's Vapour (steeped for 2 weeks), which I'd read nothing but great things about and apart from Jungle Juice, which has plenty of flavour, but doesn't taste good enough for me to order again, the rest (Caramel Capuccino, RY Whore, Banoffee Cookie Dough and ABC (Another bloody custard)) were totally lacking in flavour and very disappointing.

I've got 4 x 10ml bottles from Vapology steeping and a 30ml Captain Custard from Steamgunk in the cupboard with them. I've also got The King and Mums Custard on the way from Digby's, plus some Snake Oil as well, both of which are pre-steeped, so I might be able to start vaping them in a couple of days.

Will any of those steeping/on the way hit the mark, do you have any other suggestions for a very flavoursome juice, or has my years of inhaling crap taken their toll?

Currently using a Mini Protank 3 with a Vision Spinner, but an Itaste VV 3.0, Innokin Iclear X.1, Kanger Aerotank on the way.

think you'll find some flavour issues resolved with your new kit
chef's vapour in particular are certainly not lacking in flavour on the right gear.

I'll give everything another couple of weeks or so, then make my mind up whether to mix my own or not.

The only problem is that if experts like Vapology can't get a flavour that I can get on with, even after doubling up the flavour, then how can I possibly improve things? Surely, anymore flavour would start tasting more of chemicals, then again, I know nothing about it, so should read up on it more.

I had a bit of a sulk last night, but I can't keep throwing money/months vaping with no flavour on this and may have to accept that for whatever reason, vaping may not be for me. Having said that, I may get in tonight/tomorrow, whack some Snake Oil in the Aerotank and start morris dancing around my Living Room.

I tend to avoid vendors that don't send juice ready-steeped these days - a lot of the time it leads to disappointment which is only emphasised ten fold because you've had to wait ATLEAST a week to get the disappointment! It just makes me feel not only did I waste money but I wasted 1-2 weeks potentially vaping/looking for juice I will like.

Snake oil is great from the get-go, and has great flavour so fingers crossed for that one!

I haven't read every post so forgive me if it's been mentioned already. You don't say what atomiser your using. If your using cheap cart, clearo or iclear rubbish then you won't get the best from your liquid. A decent RBA/RDA with a cotton wick will blow your socks off flavour wise compared to other atomisers.

The 4 Vapology 10ml (Caramel, Coconut, Vanilla and Chocolate) were sent out on 19th May, so have been steeping for 8 days now, in a dark cupboard, with the lids off.

I opened them up and couldn't really smell much at all, so I tried the Caramel and Vanilla, but can hardly make out any flavour either. This is doubly disappointing, as I ordered extra flavour: double.

I thought Vapology were supposed to be one of the good retailers as well?

I hope the Snake Oil, Digby's Custard and Steamgunk Custard are a big improvement, as I feel like giving up at the moment and selling off all my gear.

I know there are as many methods and approaches as there are vapers when it comes to steeping and so forth - but I would've thought *8 days with the lids off* would mute flavour rather than help it. I tend to steep fruit flavours for around 2-4 days before vaping them (they're usually already a couple days old when you receive them), caps *on* and shaking them every day, and tobaccos for more like a full week. Towards the end of steeping, I give all flavours around 5-6 *hours* with the lids off, no more, then a final good shake and get vaping.

If a flavour really isn't coming through at all, I might give it another couple days and try again - but if nothing much has happened flavour-wise within 10 days, I'll usually be pretty much convinced it's just a very mild flavour. Some are, some aren't. But yeah, on the whole, I would've thought days on end with the caps off is likely to lead to far more evaporation or muting of both flavour and nicotine than you'd ideally want.

Just my two cents, though - anybody know for a fact that I'm talking rubbish here? :)

On a more directly practical note, some UK flavours I've found reasonably strong so far include Juicy Peach, Mountain Dew and Black Honey Tobacco from Paradise Vape UK; Apple Tart and Raspberry from Scope's E-juice (*if* you like cakey, sweetish ones); and the Cherry from Vapology is quite a sharp taste a bit like a cherry balsam lozenge (a tad metallic, almost medicinal). I'm going to put some reviews of a bunch of flavours from different vendors up on here shortly, so I'll try to remember to link you to the thread when I do.

Don't give up yet fella, there are SO MANY out there and they differ wildly, even on the 'same' flavour. And yes, mixing your own could be a laugh.

I agree with the comment regarding steeping with the lids off, I thought that some of the goodness may escape, but since I know next to nothing, I just went with it.

Hopefully, now the lids are back on, the flavour may return, not convinced though.

Got the Iclear X.1, threw it on the Spinner and poured in some Snake Oil and my faith is now restored a bit, as I can definitely get taste out of this, not quite sure exactly what taste, but at least I'm not vaping with no flavour anymore.

I then gave some of the Steamgunk Captain Custard a go, which has been steeping for a week and some flavour is coming through, with 4.3v, so I'm hoping this will improve over the coming weeks.

Waiting for the rest of the gear and Digby's efforts, which should all be with me tomorrow.

A bit happier tonight, as at least I've two that I can vape with, so have ordered 22 samples from Smoke Rainbow as well.

I know this is an old thread and I don't want to hijack it but I'm really interested to know from Big Kev if this issue was ever resolved because I'm having the exact same problem.

I stopped smoking a LONG time ago (7 years to be exact!) but never really shook the temptation. Vaping seemed the answer as a lower-risk alternative so three weeks ago I bought an iTaste vv3 with iClear 16 clearos and 5 10ml bottles of Chef's Vapour juice (RY Whore, Caramel Cappuccino, Troll's Blood, Green Eyed Monster and Steam Gunk Cinnamon Cherry Tac Tic). I also got a couple of sample bottles of Hangsen and 30ml 50/50 Grant's Vanilla Custard. What can I say - really disappointing all round. Apart from the GVC I'm struggling to taste any of them (Caramel Cappuccino was particularly disappointing as I've read so much good stuff about it - I get NOTHING!)

I'm hoping that I'm just being a noob and will come to be able to discern more in time but I'm not hopeful...

A success story would be encouraging just now as I'm finding the whole experience frustrating at the moment!
